hi,ive just troolled through post & cant see anything about carpel.
i have to see gp sometime this wk as my wrists are killing me.
question is,is this carpel.
ive suffered with tenosynovitis since 1983,but this is alot different.
everytime i extend my arm i have a shooting, electricity feeling in my wrists(right worse then left)extending into elbow & tonight i can feel the electric shocks in my thumb.(base)were the lumps are & squared off deformed bits.
gettting dressed, putting on my coat, lifting the kettle etc is soooo painful.
i know ive over done things on holiday but i was getting this before going away just not as bad.
ive looked it up but says nothing about the electric shock feelings.
i feel like im plug into the mains with wrists & spine.
any ideas,debsx

    Hiya :D

Not spoke to you in a while, sorry you are in pain. What you are describing sounds exaclty what my friend says who very unusually has it in both wtists.

She's just seen a Specialist and they are away to operate to correct this, one wrist at a time. Don't know loads about it though, just that it's really painful and you get it when preggers sometimes.

hi,thankx ive just this minute booked an appointment online for thursday.see what gp can do or suggest.
ive been wearing tubigrip for the past 18 months because of pain but this is too much.
tenosynovitis is painful but the electricity running through my hands, arms to elbow is just restricting every movement i make.
i just want to be unplugged
ive spent yrs working tubigripped up but could cope with teno.this is too much....see what gp says on thursday.
    luv debsx

That's good to hear, I'm glad you are going to see someone about it, from what my friend says it's awful and she uses a keyboard all day at work which totally aggrevates it.

Sorry for all the spelling errors in above post, the message kept jumping when I tried to write, I'm sure you know what I meant though. Good luck with the Dr, let us know how you get on.

Hello, I've got carpel tunnel. I've just had my left hand operated on and I have to decide about my right. It sound as if it could well be that, but their are other nerves in a similar place which can cause problems. You need to see your GP, and he may be able to tell you whether or not he thinks its CTS by preforming simple tests, such as tapping the back of your hand, to see if you get any symptoms.

The most likely thing is to be sent for a simple nerve test, which is painless and takes about 20 to 30 mins and should tell them what nerves, if any are affected. You should do something about getting it checked over, because my surgeon says the longer you leave a damaged nerve the less chance of treatment working. Sorry, to go on. Hope this is helpful. Love Sue

Sounds like CTS. I am waiting for the nerve test. I should be wearing my support but that hurts like made sometimes, but stops the tingling in fingers. My thumb hurts the most.
There is a lot about Carpul Tennis Syndrome on the Internet. Useful information.
