Hi
As some of you know my THR was cancelled because they found a problem with my blood tests for my Liver.
Today I got the results from my GP, I had more blood tests and some of the levels have gone up even more and some have gone down, I had a abdominal scan which didnt show anything abnormal.
So my GP has referred me to a specialist today and I have a appointment on 1st December.
So its a waiting game again, hopefully the specialist weill find out what the problem is and maybe eventually I will get my Hip replacement.
Denise.

    Hi Denise

There's always something  I hope you get an answer on 1st Dec and then you can get your operation and be on the mend soon.

    Good luck.
    Love

How frustrating. I'm sorry to hear that everything is on hold. Good news though that your scan was normal. At least they are being careful and not taking any chances. You haven't been ill recently have you? I don't know if that can change liver function significantly. Fingers crossed that your tests are normal next time.

    Hi Denise
I`m sorry you haven`t got any clear answers yet. You must be feeling very frustrated with all the waiting, and pain no doubt!
My aunt had abnormal LFT`s, and eventually it was linked to her meds (diclofenac I think). They kept asking about alcohol!! She only has a glass of vino at Christmas!!
Hope it is all sorted for you soon xxx

Hello Its a shame you could't go ahead with the op. but at least you are being looked after properly. Its much better to get the liver problems sorted out first. Having a normal scan is good news, anyway and you will soon see the doctor who will be able to help you with the liver results. Take care, love Sue

    Hi Denise,

I really hope when you see the consultant they will be able to tell you whats going on but more importantly get you right again so you can get your hip done. Take care Cris

    Hiya
Yeah I agree its better to be careful than to go through with the operation when there is a problem, and no I havent been ill, since I had the pre op I have had 2 more lots of blood tests and the enzymes ar still way too high I am going for another blood test tomorrow then it will be up to date for when I go to see the specialist in December.

    Hiya NB
I had been taking Simvastatin since April and that is known for liver problems so my GP took me off them before I had the last blood test. and I stopped drinking at the same time. Thats the thing with the liver enzymes everthing you read is linked to alcohol so I was feeling embarrased even just telling people that I had a Liver problem, When I got my blood test results back it proves that it isnt drink that is causing it to be so high I cant tell you what a relief that was to me. Embarrasment over.

    Hello there
The others are right, it's best that they get this sorted before any op, although it is so unexpected. If I was was you I would feel the same as the op is a big thing & needs all your strength.
Just know we are are all thinking of you & behind you during all the awful waiting. The waiting is the worst I found.
    Love & strength

It's good to hear how you're progressing. I've wondered how you're getting on. I know what you mean about liver and alcohol, seems to be one of the first things folk think of but obviously not with you. Lots of meds can make your LFT's go up I hope you get to the bottom of it. Will you go back onto another Statin for your Hight cholesteral? I take it that's why you were on Simvastatin.? good luck in Dec.

    Hi Rita
Thanks for thinking about me since my recent problems.
No hopefully I wont go on another statin because my cholesterol was'nt too high in the first place, the nurse practitioner put me on it because of my family history, my cholesterol was only 5.6 and the target is 5.0. But my present GP was a bit mystified as to why I had gone on it in the first place.
