Hi everyone

I took these photographs when I was staying at my daughter's house over Christmas. She lives on the edge of the moors in Yorkshire, and these are the views from her house.

It is always a beautiful place at any time of the year, but the snow was deep, and turned everywhere into a Christmas Wonderland. The grandchildren has great fun sledging and building snowmen.

Here is a link to my slideshow.

Lovely pictures, beautiful scenery, Joan. I'll admit I'm biased, but I'd say it can rival Dartmoor at times!

Lovely skies on the last two pictures. Makes me want to definitely reach for the canvas and brushes.

Nice to see you looking all wrapped up and comfy in the cold snow. Brrr.

Hi Joan, what lovely pictures, I must admit that I do like the Yorkshire moors, although I have only seen them from a steam train, Dartmoor is great too love Jaspercatxx

    Hello Joan

With scenery like that, you need to start getting large canvasses and acrylics. You have inspiration at your feet there.

Start painting large sweeping pictures. You are lucky

Oh they are lovely pics Joan.

We have beautiful countryside in the Staffordshire Moorlands too - I'd love a walk through the snowy drifts but wouldn't dare risk it anymore :( still, i can appreciate it from the warmth of the car lol

    Happy New Year, Jackie x

    p.s. Its snowing now!

    Hi Joseph

Glad you liked the skies. Very dramatic and beautiful, aren't they :?:

I was frozen in the picture you mention. I'd been standing watching my grandchildren sledging for ages, and it really was cold.

Thank you all for your comments. The snow is still thick there, so the children have had lots of sledging this year.
