Think of a job that fits this criteria - market your idea ... and retire on the proceeds!!

I have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.

Yes, get a job with the DLA, they definately are not under any stress. Or maybe become a doctor for ATOS, sit on your backside all day ticking boxes, deciding the fate of so many people without a backward glance.

I worked in journalism for several years and loved it, but the stress was killing me and flaring my RA every time I turned around.

I took my writing skills in a different direction and became self-employed as a contract technical writer. It pays lots better, the stress is zero compared to journalism, and employers are generally very responsive to getting me whatever I need to get the job done - because the faster I get it done, the less money I cost them. LOL

Over the years, the tech writing has branched out into web content, procedures documentation, and marketing copy. My husband is jealous of me because my daily commute is from my bed, to the coffee pot, to the easy chair with my feet up, pillows under my elbows, dogs tucked in beside me and computer in my lap. :)

I think you have to look at where your talents lie and go with it.

Wow Carolan sounds like you have it SORTED!

I get a lot of satisfaction in my job - but it's not perfect ... management is *!*!*!

    :)

If I have a problem with management, unfortunately my only option is to talk to myself in the mirror. ;)

"No personal calls during work time!"

"You want a holiday? Are you serious?"

"NO, you can't have a raise! Get out of my office!"

Um, yes, after one works from home alone for a while, the brain starts to go...
