am on lodine for the symptoms and kapake for the pain but nothing seems to touch any of it.

    Hi Kate

Welcome to the forum. :) I am sorry to read your story. Please join us on the other zones, more people look in there. Ask as many questions as you like and we all try to help and offer support. There is also the chitchat zone, but I do not think for a minute you will have much time to linger on there as you have a young family to look after. :)

I think you have been waiting patiently for far too long and should begin to start being more authoritive if you are able. The treatment you are receiving is zilch really. No one seems to be taking care of you. The physio non saga sounds so bizarre as to be unbelieveable   Usually peeps are offered physio for about 6 sessions, it seems to be a matter of course, so it can be ruled out as helping or not. Does your gp know he outcome of his suggestion that ou self refer for some physio?

Has no one suggested any steroid injections in your hands and other areas to ease pain? The pain in your leg and hip could be coming from your spine. You really do need to be seen by the medics and taken seriously.

Why not, for starters chase up this MRI?

    Look after yourself,

    Luv
    Elna x

    hi elna,
the only person i see is my gp, i have asked him time and time again to change my meds (a close friend had RA and is on mtx and asked if he could look at something else) but all he says is what i'm on is fine for it.
i have never been offered anything but the lodine and 50 kapake a month even tho he prescribed 2 every 6hrs!! didnt even know about steroids for hands (stupid of me probably, should of guessed)
i told gp what the physios said and he just shrugged and made a note, that was the last i heard about it.

will keep an eye out on the forums now i've actually found em lol and thanks :)

    Hi Kate :)

Your gp is really not supporting you with all this and I am so sorry. Others often chat on the forum about very unhelpful gps and medics in general. Some people are so unlucky in the help and guidance they receive. It does seem to be luck of the draw or where you live. Would it be possible for you to change your gp?

Peeps are often referred to a pain clinic and that is where you can get steroid injections or to a consultant. I saw a hand consultant and received injections in my thumbs and a couple of fingers, from him. It is not a cure but can give relief for months at a time. It is possible to have up to 3 injections per year in the same area. My gp gave me a couple of injections in my shoulder. He "liked" doing that kind of thing  other gps would not do that!

You need all the help you can get, Kate, bringing up a young family. You are no age yourself either. :)

I hope you stay with us on the forum. Join us on the Living with Arthritis forum and we will help you as much as we can, if you wish.

    Luv

    Hi Kate

    A warm welcome from me.

Your doctor is not helping you very much is he?

The paople on here and friendly and we try to help and support one another. I was started on a steroid called Prednisalone. Then went onto a different med. There are plenty of meds out there to try you on.

As Elna has said that if you post questions on LWA you will get a bigger response from people.

On CChat there are many topics that you can post on. We also have a cafe. Why not pop in and have a cuppa and chat to some of the people on there too.

Well, I hope to see you posting soon.

    Love Trish xxx
