Peom about the sea

Calm be the ocean
Happy and free
Sail me away
With the deep blue sea
Cast out in a boat
Singing a merry tune
Lay under the stars
With a custard moon
I lie in my slumber
Gently rocked asleep
Oblivious to everything
Curled in a heap
The wind brushes my hair
Wooden floor boards creak
The breeze cools
And it sooths me
I sail into dream land
Knowing I’m safe
In the palm
Of gods hand

    Thank you Suncatcher
    For your beautiful rhyme.
    It made me think back
    To my own happy time
    Of sailing warm oceans
    In search of a tail,
Or a fin or a splash
    To show there's a whale
    Swimming beneath us
    Mile after mile
    Breaking the waves
    To cause me to smile.
    Go safely brave giant,
    And breach when you dare.
Show just a glimpse of you
    To those humans who care.

    Hi Toni

    Before this gets silly
    I just have to say
    Your poem was lovely
    In every way.
    Your writing showed style
    Imagination and flair
    And ought to be published
    By someone somewhere.

    Love

    Val

Jigs or wigs depending on the day & the state of the joints perhaps.
I'm having a 'jigs' day, the first for a little while so making the most of it.

    How are the classes ?
    They have gone really fine
    Now it is the holiday
So i will have some time
    To write some more poetry
    Read or reply to you
    Maybe lounge in the garden
And stare at the sky so blue
    I will dream about September
when it is time for school
And i will do more classes
which i find helpful and cool
    Id better finish this poem
As it starts to drive me mad
It is nice to hear you i feel so glad :D

    Whoever said that poetry's dead,
Would only have to read this thread,
    To see that poetry's alight,
And thriving on the AC site.
    Joanne, and Val, Toni too,
    Are writing poetry for you.
So well done, girls, every one,
And now my little rhyme is done!

Oh whaley you have a talent
Your poetry full rhyme and wit
I can almost imagine me there
On a beach where i like to sit
    I could imagine you swimming
On the crest of a wave
    Riding through the ocean
    or gliding past rocky cave
    My nostrils smell the salt
    In my daydream can imagine
    My thoughts take me there
Reality its just a pork scratchin

Well I can't compare with any of this........

I can only add my favourite 'Sea' poem......

I must go down to the sea again,
The lonesome sea and the sky.
I left my vest and socks down there,
    I wonder if they're dry.

    Sorry................I'll get my coat.....

There are holes in the sky
    Where the rain gets in
    They are ever so small
Which is why rain is thin

Rob, you and I share a common love - the poetry of one Mr S Milligna, the well-known typing error! DD (who's also fetching her coat - wait for me, Rob!)

Things that go bump in the night,
Should not really give one a fright.

Its the 'ole in each ear,
    That lets on the fear.

    That,
    and the absence of light.

Morning Rob! How about some Michael Rosen?

    Down behind the dustbins
I met a dog called Jim.
    He didn't know me
    And I didn't know him.

    If an excavator excavates
    A motivator motivates
    An activator activates
    A rotivator rotivates
    A cultivator cultivates
    And an operator operates
    What does an alligator do?

Never come across that one! Ogden Nash (who was American)

Sure, deck your lower limbs in pants,
    That's the trend, my sweeting:
You look great as you advance,
But have you seen yourself retreating?

(I think I've got the second line wrong, but at least it scans!) DD
