hi. I'm confused about the way Housing Benefit is changing.
Apparently they are going to use 30% of median instead of 50% of median. :? :? :?
What on earth does it all mean :?: :?: :?:
Any help appreciated as we're already struggling financially

    Hi. I've found out a bit more about this.
    50% is the median which apparently is the average rent for a particular property type in each area. This is what the council base their Local Housing Allowance (LHA) on.
    Instead of the LHA being based on the average 50% they are dropping the LHA to 30% average for each property type.
    Basically it means they will be paying out less and people will have to add more to top-up their rent.

    I think that's what it all means. Will post again if I find out anything else :!:
