It may be a stupid question but I have just started Humira and dont know if I can use a sun bed or not? Sorry for being stupid but wanted to be sure before I go on one.

Dear Jo,
Thanks for your question to Helplines. In the general guidance on the drug it specifically mentions a theoretical risk of skin cancer, so I think you might need to hold off any additonal exposure to skin cancer risk without the all clear from your rheumatology clinic first.
I hope that is helpful

Hi Jo. I am on humira plus injected meth, and last summer (quite inadvertently) I gave myself a severe and painful rash around my neck. Whether this was due to the meth (sunlight and meth are not a good mix) or that plus the humira I do not know, but please ensure that you have adequate sun protection when out and about in the summer. I was told to use a suncream with an SPF of at least 30 and to stay indoors between the hours of 11am and 3pm. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0
