pain meds

how do you cope working and taking pain meds only on co codamol 8/500 and they send me strange can not focus properly (not that i am aware of it at time) have messed up card machine a couple of times now save these for after work and night time just use paracetamol but they not enough really any tips ???? val

    No sorry Val they do thje same to me and they don't help that much either.

    Hi Val,

    When i was at work i was on dihydrocodeine, and i couldn't focus, then tried me on codeine, never worked.. so was put on tramadol, was able to function better with that.. Hope you get it sorted, doc should help you find an inbetween..x

    thanks have added different anti inflam to see if this helps as quite a bit of swelling at moment val

    Hiya, think you have got to find what painkillers work best for you, am on co-dcoadmol 30/500, my GP asked me to go back onto paracetamol after having morphine due to car accident, have to say paracetamol did nothing for me, perciviered for a while but back to the co-codamol as was in too much pain, they make you a bit woozy to begin with but when u build up a resistance they dont hold the pain, think am gona have to go back to GP see what else he recommends, back to the dihydracodiene I suppose, more constipation x

    I know that one, I started a job 3 weeks ago but only lasted 3 hours at it and ended up in a&e, the job was supposed to be unloading tyres from a trailer however the way in which they did it rolling tyres off the back of a trailer and getting me to catch them was not good. 12 days with my wrist in plaster and 8 days after having the plaster off and my thumb/wrist is killing me. Taking Dihydracodeine and getting terrible bellyache :(

    you would think in this day and age there would be pain meds that did not affect brain and well down there :oops: thanks for replys will just have to carry on and see how it goes got a jab in few weeks that might help val

    I was on codeine, have virtually no memory of two months. Got a hellish headache coming off them. I can't take nsaid. I now take paracetamol and amy 20mg at night. My pain is inadequately controlled. The pain only stops when I am asleep and often not then. I have the specialist tomorrow and am going to ask about pain management.
