Hi I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is lucy and im 25 the reason for my username is because when I tell my boyfriend off/ get grumpy he calls me lucifer and when I'm kind I'm lulu.
I'm suffering with a very bad hip pain in my right side and I have had countless appointments where I was turned away with doctOrs dismissing me saying that it would pass or that it was due to my anorexia ( I'm now recovered) after recovering I went back twice last January as pain was constant and I saw a locum the 2nd time who suspected hip bursitis. I was referred to see a specialist who said I didn't have it and had various MRI scan, ultrasound. Steroid injection and orthotics. One specialist said I had very limited cartalage and another suspects a type of cartilage and tendon issue but I still have no firm
Diagnosis and if I'm honest I'm loosing hope. I'm having major issues with painkillers and I am not able to tolerate codeine, tramadol and so was suggested to have nortriptalene also didn't work so I'm
Only able to take ibuprofen, this pain is ruining my life and making work difficult as it's physical. Tomorrow I'm getting a tens machine from a nurse to try and I'm so hoping it will work I'm beginning to wish they would just take the hip away or do something, nice to meet you all

Lu

Hello Lululucifer (Scary  Which are you tonight  Welcome to the forum but I'm sorry you had to find us.

It must be tough if pain relief is very limited. I had tendonitis in my hip in January and it was no joke. I guess it must also be worrying and frustrating that they can't seem to get to the bottom of what's wrong despite all the scans etc. I do hope the tens machine helps.

If you want to copy this post to the Living With Arthritis forum, where more people look in, I'm sure you'll get lots of sympathy. Unfortunately, we can't do diagnoses. I wish you luck with it, though.
If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.
