Hi
I know it sounds a boring topic but I really need your advice
What is the lightest, easiest to push with the best suction :?:
Oh dear reading that back it sounds like a rude joke :!:
Honest its not :!:
My dyson has finally died & need to find a replacement I also found it really heavy to carry upstairs so had to wait until 1 of the family was home :!:
Thank you
Maria

Upright or cylinder? I have two Dysons (one is my ma's, she didin't like it) they are cylinder versions and I find them OK. I cannot manage upright cleaners now. DD

Finding a vacuum that’s both light and powerful isn't easy. From uprights to cylinders, bagged, bagless and handhelds, there are lots of options. And an expensive model won’t necessarily deliver; you could spend more than £200 and end up with a fairly poor vacuum cleaner.

    Have a look at this

    Hi Maria
I have Oreck, they are expensive , but so light to lift and carry, I have had it for 7 years now and it has never let me down, the bags are very large so they only need changing every few months...I love it.

When we had an upstairs I used to keep a small carpet sweeper up there then get someone stronger than me to haul the vac up as needed.

Next I graduated to leaving an old vac up there.

    Finally moved to a bungalow.

I changed from a Miele cylinder to an upright because the cylinder vacuum cleaner kept getting stuck behind furniture when I was dragging it round the house.

I now have an Oreck upright and although I'm pushing around a motor instead of dragging it I find it much easier.

The handle is also made especially for people with painful or deformed hands and wrists.

It comes with Oreck Junior for cleaning stairs and other hard to get to places.

You do have to buy bags for them both.

    Hope this helps.

I love my little Dyson recharchable. Hubby made a long hose for it as it didn't come with one. I can manage it around the bungalow and he just goes through with the big one in between time.
I have only got laminate and tiled floors though - no carpets, but I have got 2 Cavaliers and a Ragdoll cat, so need to vaccum regularly.

I'm a Dyson fan, I've had a number over the years. I think they're the best for power and I like the bagless-ness of them! What I do forget is to wash the filter! Good luck with Baby D, I hope it serves you well. DD

I have an upright Vax. Very light and excellent suction, but I think the bearings have gone in the wheels making it harder to push. I have been looking at a small Dyson cylinder.
Hi Colin, its nice to see you back.

Ditto to the above - they are extremely lightweight & ergonomic handles, definately recommend.... x
