He's fab and has agreed with me and my rheumy that he will fuse my thumbs at the beginning of next year. Not a decision I've taken lightly but really pleased he respects what I'm trying to do.
Already had them repaired and its likely that they'll snap at some point and I have decided to have them fused on my timescale rather than as an emergency.

Anyone had this done? Did you get the result you wanted?

    I have been advised to have both my thumbs fused. I am at the moment waiting to have my wrist fused, which I have to have done first.
    I will watch this thread with interest.
