    Hi Maria

    Thanks for your posting.

For general information on claiming benefits and the medical test see our factsheets at http://www.arthritiscare.org.uk/PublicationsandResources/Listedbytype/Factsheets#Wn2I.

For more detailed information on the test it may be worth contacting a benefits specialist.

You can either contact your local Citizens Advice Bureau (citizensadvice.org.uk/index/getadvice.htm), DIAL UK (http://www.dialuk.info/about.asp), The Disability Law Service (dls.org.uk/about_us/contact.html) or Turn2Us (turn2us.org.uk/) or your local Age UK, if you are over 50 (http://www.ageuk.org.uk/about-us/local-services-search/?UserSetLocation=London&Facet=Local+Service).

You are welcome to ring us if you would like to have a chat about this.

    All the best

My friend has one next Thursday anything to help you with your case I think you have to send the information to them for your assessment anything from a medical professional will do one thing some drs like atos to request a report others drs will issue a letter my friends dr said they have to request one a friend or family member can attend or a support worker and can also speak on your behalf too I think it's wrong atos what you to chase people up for reports when our unwell

Hope this helps and good luck

    Hi Maria

I suspect a possible reason behind all this is that the Ill health retirement is more to do with retiring from your current type of work which is impossible to do due to your health. However the ESA assessment I believe is more to do with general work capability. Its all very confusing I know but thank goodness you've had some good news.

    Best wishes

    Hi Simoma,
I have just completed my appeal forms & put everything in I could think of
Reports from GP, Rheumatology, Consultant Orthopaedic, Occupational Health Doctor and even the report from Atos regarding my ill health retirement confirmation.
What I do not understand is at the ASA assessment because I can hold a folder I can use a keyboard & a mouse! Part of my reasons for not been able to carry out my job is pain & poor dexterity due to joint stiffness to both hands & wrists.
So watch this space! Im not holding my breath & I will have my NHS pension so its not all doom & gloom
    Thank You
    Maria
