Have to quit cimzia because of all the side effect and it diden't help me at all.
Got some really bad infections and has been on and off antibiotica four the last 6 months.
The last time i was on antibiotica 6 times before they four the right type four the infection. So that really knocked my down and when stopping cimzia and the winter my artherist got really bad.So had to be home from the north sea last time. Got feber and so and really sick. So back at prednisolon, not that I like it at all but i have to.
Was to a specialist whit the toa nails that is falling of but they found out that it has to be a side effect . so nothing else youst side effect and they hope it gets better now when I have quit cimzia.
Not I'm youst started enbrel again ,really hope it works, have youst taken it four two weeks. Really having problems whit my wrists, knees and anckels . they are really bad.
Olso got more tablets so that I not get so many infections, but feel like it is more pills all the time.My hair is still falling of ,and doctor think it is from the metex but can't reduce the dose because of the arterist is so bad. .Olso still have to littel of b12 and folic acid so have to take more tablets four that too..olso waiting to operate on one toa . I fell like it wiln never end .Really tired of all .
Going to work next week, and really hope that the enbrel is working more then. But last time I was on it stopped working after a whille and not really got the best effect . So really hope it is not like that this time. Feeling a bit better but take prednisolon and pain meds all day youst to heng in there . The doctor mean that I have to trie enbrel one more time before I get on something new and hopefully it woorks and I dont need something new. But time will show. Taking prednisolon helps but I dont like it at all. But cant stopp before the enbrel is is working.
So sorry that I havent been here four so long but cant remember when I have been so sick like this. Really hope 2013 getts better . .

Oh my, poor poorly you, you have had a rough time, haven't you? You don't need to apologise for not being on, you've had a lot to deal with and we understand that. I am so sorry, sometimes this is what happens when we are trying to find the right combination of pills and meds to make the difference. I know that prednisalone isn't the ideal solution but it can help to ease the worst of the arthritis symptoms. Is there any way you could delay going back to the rig? You do not sound well enough at all to go out there. Take care, please. DD

I have missed you, kathe, and I'm so sorry things have been bad for you. You cope amazingly well but, like DD, I do hope you're not pushing yourself too hard. Life on a rig can't be easy for anyone with arthritis, let alone when it isn't well-controlled. I hope the pred gives you a break and that the enbrel works a bit better than before. (())

    Kathe!

How lovely to see your name on the board :)

I am so so sorry you have had such a hard time. All those infections must be so so tiring for you :( I hope you are able to take folic acid now to limit the hair loss - that is unfair as it's the only medication taht seems to have done anything to keep this arthritis under any sort of control.

Back on enbrel then? and on oral steroids too? I have my fingers crossed that this time it works for you.

Good luck with business school too! I am impressed.

    Love

Thank you, great to bee back here too.
I have been on enbrel four 3 weeks now, feel that it
Is helping a bit. But last time it took 2-3 months before I got the best effect.
I have and still take fold acid everyday ,but not metex day, but I have to take 2 tablets(2g) a day because I have low folid acid counts. I take prednisolon tabletts(20mg) everyday to help The arteritis. I Oslo take pain meds like Ibux 600mg and paracet 1g 4times a day. Sometimes i have to take more. B12 injetions every 2 months. Enbrel injetions 2 times a week and metex every sunday. And s loot of other tablets, it is not easy going away all the medication needs it on bag.
Really hate it all, have olso got some low vitamin counts to so have to take more vitamins to. Fells like I get everything. Really hope that 2013 gets better. Really have had a bad time now. Thank you so mutch four The support , looking foreward to get The exams results om january. really great having you people here because not all my friends get that I'm sick. I think they listen but they don't understand, sometimes I think they see but they don't know what to say or do. But really i think people is most intersted in them self, and their own problems. I know I don't have been here and asked you how you all been. sorry that I havent had The time but hope you all are fine. Really hope that people can see their friends better in 2013.

For most people, Kathe, when they fall ill they go to the doctors, get a diagnosis and some pills and get better. We fall ill, we do injections and take lots of pills and we don't get better. That's tough for us to understand let alone those who are usually healthy.

I can tell that you are feeling very fed up with it all at the moment (I am truly humbled by the fact you can express it in my language rather than your native Norwegian) and I understand that feeling: I've been there a number of times and it does drag one down. I don't usually advocate giving in but I feel that the forthcoming trip to the rig is far too demanding on you at the moment. Is there any way that you can delay it? Do you have a period of sick leave available to you? I know that work can be a good diversion but that is only when one can cope with its added pressures. I'm worried about you - please don't push yourself too much. Take care and I sincerely hope that 2013 proves to be a much better year for you on all fronts - and good luck with the exam. results! DD

Hi Kathe, popped into the forum and saw your name. There's nothing much I can add to what others have said except to send you my sympathy with your situation.
You are so very brave, working, studying and having to live with the horrors of arthritis.
I hope and pray that the New Year will bring you some relief and improvement to your health worries and excellent exam results when you get them next month. You are a star.
Many blessings to you Kathe from Joy.

Happy New Year Kathe and hope things will improve for you. You have been having a very rough time and we all know what that does to us. Do take care. Hope your studies go well. Do wonder if DD is right and that you are trying to push yourself a little too far though? I'm sure you must find working on a rig extremely demanding and having to copy with arthritis as well must only add to your problems. If you find that it is too much for you, just come home.

Let us know how you get on and take care.

CONGRATULATIONS, kathe :D That's a brilliant exam result by any standards but, given the very difficult circumstances in which you did it, you have done amazingly well and it's thoroughly deserved.

I'm glad the enbrel seems to be working a bit but clearly not enough and I hope things improve for you on that front. Good luck with the surgeon on Monday.

Oh my word, you've had an op? Oh Kathe, I sincerely hope it helps and keep using the crutches because the extra support they give is important (I can't get anywhere without mine!) Your healing may take some time thanks to the meds you are taking so make things as easy as you can for yourself, yes? Rest as much as you can and I hope things start to feel better soon. ((())) DD
