Hi

I have a lovely new electric cooker but the bottom has now got a bit messy,
does anyone have any ideas how I can clean it.

Not cleaning products lol....

I can't bend, crouch down or kneel so it seems impossible to reach where I need to clean, I have tried sitting on my perching stool and reaching but just can't reach.....

Please help :?

Why don't you try tying a cloth to a mop, spraying the bottom of the oven with Mr muscle and then getting to work on it?

Or you could try my favourite method of leaving it for someone else to do :D

I can not help with the cleaning but when it is clean it is easy to keep it that way if you use one of these oven liner things, you can find them in the better pound shops.

Marie am I following you or are you following me :)

bicarb of soda!! mix in some lemon juice and leave to percolate.

Either that or pinch hubbies best chisel and start scraping.

I'm with NinaKKang. Use something on the end of a long stick - even a cloth on the end of a grabber stick. I do that for lots of stuff.

I haven't got a hubby nor someone else to do it, but I will try using something on a mop/stick or try using my grabstick with a cloth on it.

I will look for some oven liners,

    all good ideas

    thx :)

I have an electric oven but the heatery bit is at the bottom, ergo I cannot use liners (it says so in the handbook). When mine was new I was very good about cleaning it but as the arthritis has progressed that fell by the wayside. Mine is now disgusting (apart from the door) but it's all our own yuk. It's also dark as I can't assume the position to change the bulb which blew over a year ago. I have been thinking about getting in a professional celaner, there's a lad who does the rental houses further up the terrace and he's quoted me £35 which seems OK to me. I'll definitely get it done when we get around to selling the house. DD

Get a professional to do it. I had mine cleaned as I cant get down to do it anymore. Cost £32 and it was gleaming by the time he had finished. He spent about 2 hours cleaning it as well. Money well spent!
