big toe pain

i suffer sometimes with gout and big toe pain i enjoy running as a hobby while i am running i do not feel pain but when i have finished sometimes the foot is very angry and red can i carry on this hobby?

    You are brave!! I would have given it up if it hurt me :oops:

    In your shoes (pardon the pun) I would ask the doctor if I couls have a referral to a podiatrist - maybe some insoles would help? Also if it's a bad idea he will likely tell you so.

    I agree with Toni, if you see a podiatrist they should be able to help with your footwear...gout is so painful so I do take my hat off to you running with it....hope you get some Help soon .
