beginning of this year i got diagnosed OA in my right wrist....i had x-rays and 4 blood test...after waking up with a mild pain in my right wrist couple days later my hand swollen like a balloon i went to our A@E department.
I had a Hand specialist ( Consultant ) a couple weeks after that. He things that there is also a '' Quervains tendonsynovitis '' does anyone know if this is related to OA ? The Consultant said hes more concerned about my Tendonsynovitis then OA.

The de quervains is idiopathic ie no known cause but I think if you've go it active oa in the wrist then I guess the inflammation could have affected the tendon sheaths too. They do use steroid injections but effectiveness is a bit variable.0

Lizzieuk1...By now my OA have moved to my knuckles and 2 of my Fingers. By my first check up i been told if not any better by the next check up i could have Injection. Second check up come along and was able to move my thumb and wrist a bit better so the consultant said i dont need Injection now but still see the Physio. Tablet wise it is Naproxen , Tramadol and paracetamol and ice pack's. I got
myself down to just Paracetamol and rub Arnica cream on. Take a Tramadol when its real bad...The heat has gone but still swell's when its warm and Humid outside.0 -
