Has anyone who has gone untreated for a while / had severe flare ups etc ever been able to recover enough to work/ go back to work?
I've just finished a psychology degree and have severe psa in all joints. My body feels horrible and I honestly don't know if I will ever work and I don't know what to do. I feel like I'll just be stuck and home bed bound forever. I feel trapped.
How am I gonna be an optimist about this?

    Oh kittkat

You sounds as though you are suffering loads at the moment :( I hope you are seeing a rheumatologist and he/she is helping to try to get your symptoms under control???

The psychology degree was an excellent idea as you ought to be able to 'sit' while doing your work, but when you are in agony it's really hard to concentrate at all isn't it?

I hope you can get some medical help to enable you to use the degree you've worked so hard for

    Love and ((()))

    Hi Kittkat

I sympathise totally with you. Before I was diagnosed (RA & OA) I spent over a year feeling totally rubbish everyday and not knowing why. I thought this is what it must feel like to get old!! I struggled outta bed everyday and went to work for all that time because I lived alone and had all my bills to pay .
Its only now that I realise that no one else in that pain would have attempted to continue working ! Yes, I must be mad but I didnt have a clue what was happening to me.
Be positive in your outlook, have you pestered your GP for a Rheumatology referall? Once you are seeing the correct specialist you should be able to get the correct treatment and meds for your condition. It does take a while for the drugs to take effect but you will start to feel better.
