I went to a doo over the weekend, and because I am on Tociflumab drips, I was on soft drinks all night.
The price of 1/2 a lemonade was an incredible £1.89p. gulp, I felt as though I had been mugged, sort of spoilt the night, I might not bother next time.

Its only a problem if you pay! Go to spoons and get a cuppa for a £1. I had a pint the other night for £1-89, I stayed for another, just to check the quality, of course.

Pub I was in yesterday was £3 for a glass of diet coke! Shocking.

I know another pub that has a minimum charge of £3 when the football is on so I am wondering if the pub I was in yesterday does the same.

It is disgusting the amount of profit that is made on soft drinks, at the end of the day all it is is a little bit of syrup carbonated water and lots of ice x

The price of Drinks in pubs is extortionate and they wonder why pubs are closing by the day!! It's not just not being able to smoke it's the price of the drinks!!!

Its really our fault for paying up, vote with your wallet and go somewhere else, they'll soon change their tune.

Just order tap water. They can't charge for that. Although, most pubs will give you free soda water if you're with others who are having beers etc.

I fancied a diet coke rather than water and was prepared to pay over the odds. Even still , it is a rip off and you're right, if we keep paying for it they'll keep getting away with it.

Soft drinks will always be slightly more expensive for the reason that they are not what pubs are about. The converse applies in restaurants where wines and beers are charged at extortionate prices whereas the softer ones are fairly reasonable. These are businesses which need to make profits as well as pay for their overheads and staff and this is one way to do that. I agree though, it is unjust. DD
