ie for myself and Mr SW (of course. Who else :o ) in our Californian King sized bed at precisely 6.25 am today. It only lasted a few seconds but, hey, what can you expect at our age

As some of you know, we are currently at our son's in Los Angeles. They get a fair few small earthquakes all the time there. This one didn't feel any bigger than the ones with epicentres near Ripon and Stoke a few years ago but it was 4.4 and centred just a few miles down the freeway. Our 4 yr old grandson was wildly excited and "just a lil bit scared". Mr SW and I turned over and went bqck to sleep. Too much excitement is bad for you at our age  8

Crikey. The earth has never moved for me, not once, probably because around here it tends to melt into the sea. The main thing is that you two are OK - have you eaten any avocados yet? DD

Heard about the earthquake on the news last night! I'm glad your both OK. I must admit when I saw the title of the topic my dirty mind went into over drive like most of yours on here!!

I've been privilaged to feel 2 Earthquakes in this country! 1st was in 1990, I was at college and the most recent was in 2007 and it was in the early hours of the morning and it woke me up it freaked me out and we turned on Sky news and they said there had been a small earthquake near Kidderminster.

Boomer- I thought of you as we flew over (most of) Canada. An odd route.)

Barbara- not a King sized bed but a California King. Ample room for a third person :shock

DD- avocados, mangos, wine, guacamole to die for and fast food that is both fasr and proper food. I'm happy.

Your tremors made the news here

The earthquake I was in made a loud grinding sound, and lots of swaying of the building.

Hope you haven't spilled any wine :D .

    Perish the thought, Anna

There are earthquakes every day here but most are too small to be felt. The second was bigger than the first but further away. We only felt a wobble.
