Good Friday came and went, so did Saturday, Easter Sunday and Monday. No egg, chocolates or flowers from hubby. I gave him an egg, but I didn't get one :( . Instead when he went to get the morning paper he bought me back a book of stamps and said "Happy Easter". Yes, stamps are useful and cost an arm and a leg these days, but you can't eat them!

We've never done eggs because they are a commercial con. Mr DD has never bought me anything at Easter but I usually buy him a high-quality bar of plain chocolate (plus a box of Lindt milk choccy balls for me, oddly enough he too tucks in). This year, however, he had a large chunk of proper Parmesan in lieu of chocolate and we both enjoyed a thumping great leg of lamb. DD

I haven't done Easter eggs since I was a kid though we occasionally buy the little cream eggs. Not this year though.

Ah, knuckleduster, best you buy two eggs next year! One for each of you. In our case, that's what my hubby has to do in order to get one all to himself. If it were up to me I'd get one to share :)

Maybe next Easter just give him 2 chicken eggs wrapped in tin foil and say happy Easter!! My OH just buys himself Easter Eggs to eat me I prefer Haribo's. My OH came home with a box of 70 yes 70 different ice lollys!! From feasts to calipso's and Magnums to cornetto's! He makes carts for this old fashion cart company that has these refrigerated carts all over the country and gives his company these ice creams and lollies as a thank you everytime my OH's company makes them!!

After years of the OH failing to buy any Easter eggs, usually because they had sold out, too expensive or forgot and I being too unwell to shop and buy them myself, I can now send my 10 year old Daughter to the local shops to buy them (very expensive) or she accompanies him on a weekly shop.

Funnily enough as a child I always took the cash option rather than the egg.

70 assorted ice lollies bubbadog - gosh, I do hope you haven't eaten them all yet. We live on a very small estate of three cul-de-sacs and for the last two weeks we've been getting three ice cream vans round each afternoon with roughly 30 minutes between each one. I can foresee trouble happening soon - perhaps an ice cream fight

And next year I think I'll buy my own Easter egg.

I have been finding small chocolate eggs hidden in a variety of places. The tea caddy, my egg cup, two in the egg box this morning, plus one in the saucepan I use to boil my brekky eggs. I don't know where they've come from, I can only assume he's been given them at work and, because he doesn't like 'em, I'm reaping the reward. :) DD

Your right on the money Starburst. Was at my local A*** market a few days ago and they had well known branded Easter eggs for as little as 99p!!!! There was a surprising a lot of chocolate left too. Over production or people have become wiser to the commercialism of it all. The mark up is shocking on these eggs. Might just get my chocolate fix post bank holiday next year.
