Pea and ham? That doesn't sound right. Is there a shortage of eyes of newt and toes of frogs? There must be some roadkill around somewhere.

Right, I shall dig out my broomstick and revise my spell-making techniques. Better take cover, everyone. Who knows what will happen?

    (Exits stage left, cackling.)

Toady, I think you should be Queen of the Coven.

I've not collected any roadkill yet but I can chuck into the cauldron far too much household dust plus the chipped paint that Mr SW has sanded off and left on the floor. I shall examine my fridge later. There's bound to be plenty of lethal stuff in there.

I'll check my fridge when I get home. I think I threw out any perishables but,if there's anything left, it should be good and mouldy after a week. And I occasionally get the odd slug wandering through the kitchen so I'll throw them in too.

Ew!!! As a kitty person I am all too familiar with the above. I wish you hadn't qualified the spider's legs as to size, I am shuddering with memories of 'those' sort.. horrid twiggy things!! Perfect for the cauldron though! Well done Daisycat, what an ideal 'familiar' for the coven. :D

I think I'd rather have the spider's (partial) legs than the slug.

All great for the pot though.

I'll chuck in what's left of my son's magnificently - but prematurely - carved pumpkin. The squirrels found it and enjoyed it

We have some spectacular mushrooms for the caldron, even some spooky green ones.

Rats, rats & more rats......one of the joys of rural life. How many would we like? I'm sure I can fill the caldron.....We are infested this year. The only positive is that they have brought an owl, and he or she sits and hoots and literally howls at night outside my bedroom window.

Toady, what a magnificent example of larder laziness! Last night we made significant progress through a jar of tartare sauce until Mr DD spotted the date: Best Before September 2013. I thought it said 2014. (Note to self, wear your specs more often.) Anyway, so far so good gut-wise but I'll luz it in the pot, just to be on the safe side. DD
