Hi folks
went for my first cortisone injection last night at my local medical centre
unfortunately the doctor wasn't able to get the needle in to my knee
he said my knee was like concrete and he had never seen one so bad
(I have a fixed flexion deformity )
Been referred back to knee clinic at my local hospital
and be given co-codamol

    Oh Gary!

What a shame you must be so disappointed :(

I know that this can be done at the hospital with the aid of imagery so maybe that could be a way forward.

I hope the co-cos help you a little. If you haven't had them before can I recommend increase in fruit/fibre (say no more ;) )

    Hi Gary,

I can confirm what Toni said about fruit etc. Perhaps you should invest in a bottle of syrup of figs! :? So sorry to hear you couldn't have the injection though.

Well that was an outcome and a half, yes? If you want information on knees and knee operations have a look on the Living with Arthritis board on here, that's where the more medical aspects of our conditions are covered. Many people have had new knees and are now out there living the life of Riley which is how it should be. Barry2013 has had his second knee done recently, the healing etc. takes time but there again it takes years for knees to get to the point where new ones are offered. DD

That's great news though I expect it's come as a bit of a shock.

I have two replacement knees and they have both been brilliant for years.

    I'm very pleased for you.
