Hi all how has everyone been ??/ i hope you are all as well and pain free as possible .. its been raining here last night and again tonight .. ive had a good day or so on Monday and Tuesday , woke up today and ive been in pain all day .. but not to worry...i finally started on my Christmas shopping today :) the hubby has now got a brand new computer which is stunning !!! it all lights up inside and everything .. it did cost the best part of a fortune though ... ive also been looking at bikes for the boys they both need new ones . Riley has out grown his he looks like a clown on one of those teeny tiny bikes at the Circus lol and Lewis bike is now a little bit worse for wear ( hes had it for 2/3 years now) any body else started yet ???

i was back at the GP's on Monday and hes now on about sending me to have a scan on my legs to see the extent of the nerve damage as he has had to increase the Gabapentin again .. hes also writing a letter to have some one come out and see me about having my own wheelchair rather than me renting one .

Physio has been going well ,hes happy with my progress so far and i now go and see him next month instead of weekly . he said theres no point in me going every week at the moment as im having regular flares and so this puts any work on hold ,hes given me a few extra exercises to do and we will see how i get on when i go back .

whats everyone got planned for tomorrow ? (bonfire night)

were just having some small fireworks at home , Riley is not very fond of the big display ones as they are too loud for him . so were having hotpot and toffee apples tomorrow night for tea and then im going to burn some wood in the wood burner and toast some marshmallows ..i just hope its not to wet and cold lol :)

hope you all have a good night :)

Sorry Emma I only just saw this having been AWOL for a few days

My 'kids' (two 20 one 17 and all girls) had some sparklers at home last night. We waited for one of the bigguns to reappear from her university for the weekend :)

The youngest is going car racing with my husband tonight and she will be seeing a 'proper' display then.

Personally they scare me a bit!

Well done for starting your Christmas shopping! I have too like you only just. The two eldest are after stuff for their own future homes...plates...cutlery...ironing boards etc.

I vividly remember the bike days though...sigh! Wrapping them was no mean feat! Mind you wrapping a rollator for my MIL was harder

It sounds to me as though you have an excellent GP Emma and the physio is right for you to do what you can until the flaring settles a bit. One step forward and two back is a bit pointless for both of you :(

The laptop sounds rather swish - get yourself on it and enjoy yourself ;)

    Love

Hi Toni sounds like you had a quiet bonfire night . we ended up going to the local display in town as Riley wanted to go and see the big fireworks which was a shocker as he's been deathly afraid of them since he was born.. i think he has finally out grown his fear. we had a lot of fun i took a fold up chair and blanket with me to keep warm and so i didnt have to stand up with everyone else ...

you a certainly right about the one step forwards 3 steps back with regards to the physio .. its frustrating . im trying to stay positive this time round with my flare (it seems to be working) im not in to much pain this morning and i have a bit more range of movement too so it may be calming down ( for now)

i have my own laptop which the hubby got me for xmas last year that i am currently on . his computer is a PC . it is huge . but thank fully a lot
quieter that his previous one (this ones has a fancy water cooled system)

i have never had to wrap a Rollator before sounds like you had fun lol .. i bet it was a right laugh. Did the MIL realise what it was ??/

how did your daughter like the Car racing ??? sounds like a great way to spend bonfire night . what kind of racing was it ?

i hope you eldest daughter is doing great at uni..

Well done your boy going to the display!! It's me who's not keen on fireworks not the kids (even if they are big!)

Very wise of you to sit down then you can still be there and hopefully not suffer any consequences :)

I very much hope your flare is receding now and will allow you a good Christmas with the kids. It really sounds promising - fingers crossed.

Hubby has a super-duper Computer then? Oddly enough my eldest (I have 2 at 20 - one step, but both at University), is very much thinking she wants one now herself. Water-cooled eh? Sounds like that's the way to go even if it does sound scary!!!

I think they go to formula 1 classics or something Emma.....I don't take too much notice  They get a meal in the restaurant and my daughter can sit down. She's been fighting leukaemia since January last year (winning!).

Last weekend it was banger car racing. My nephew (17) was caring there (near me), but no way could I go!! What if he got hurt?!

Are you ready for this? I uploaded it to photobucket especially for you.

MIL was told she couldn't have it if she didn't guess what it was correctly!!!

    Hehehe!

hahah lol that photo is hilarious !!!!

im glad you daughter is doing well , and im sorry to hear of her health issues . sending you all lots of hugs and healing prayers xxx

cancer of any form is horrid i have seen it take 3 of my uncles. one only 2 years ago this Christmas .i have another uncle who has Leukaemia hes had it for years now and he has just gone into remission again either late last year or earlier on this year . He is doing well and i see him every so often.

my family has a high risk of Cancer my mum is one of 9 children out of which 4 were male and 5 were female . all the men have had some form of cancer and so all my male cousins are currently being tested to see if there is a gene that is flagged or something . i dont quite understand it too much.

the computer is very snazzy i dont have a photo just yet but i will try and get one and show you :) i was a little worried at first with it being water cooled but apparently its the new way to keep them cool and to stop them from overheating . it works much better than fans and it much more quieter :) he does a lot of on-line gaming and at times his old computer sounded like a jet about to take off ..

my boys would love to go and watch the Formula one we tend to try and watch it when its on TV . Riley loves Lewis Hamilton . he thinks its his big brother as they share the same name .

as for my flare is hit back with force, ive been led up most of the day on Sunday . i did manage to get out on Saturday evening though . it was my sister in laws birthday and she had a little get together where one of her co-workers had organised a surprise stripper ..to say she was shocked was an understatement we thought she was going to bolt it out the door . needles to say it was a fun night and i have never laughed so much in quite a while it was great i had a few cups of coffee and was out for around 3 hours . all the girls went out into town afterwards . i got a lift to and from her house but it wiped me out .it was the first time in months id been out that long . i was that tired i even fell asleep on the sofa Sunday afternoon.. and no matter where i put my leg it was just killing me all day ...

well im off to try and get some sleep , im defiantly burning the midnight oil yet again lol xx

    take care

Oh my goodness!! A stripper!! Sounds like you had a really good laugh though and laughter really is a great medicine I think.

I hope payback for the night out is worth it when you think back to the good time you had.

So sorry the flare is back :( I hope it eases sooner rather than later.

My nephew is a gamer mostly in the small hours with folks from America etc. He has a row of computers he uses and he said water-cooled is definitely the way to go!

I should think your family are of great interest to the medical profession in terms of cancer. I hope if they do find some sort of genetic link - it's useful in terms of prevention. Good to hear your uncle is doing well ((()))

My Lucy is fine thanks had her chemo yesterday and clinic. She is having an ultrasound on her shoulder and MRI on her hip now though. Consultant is worried that the high dose steroids might have caused problems. I hope not because I wouldn't wish any of this on her after whet she already is going through :(

I am guessing you are outnumbered at home? All boys(and man)!! My poor husband is the odd one out here 3 girls me and a girl puss-cat

Luckily Lucy will go to the racing with him!

    Well you take care now

    Love

glad to hear Lucy is doing well...

i am in deed out numbered even my cat is male he is called Garfield and he is a ginger cat my boys named him :)

it certainly was worth all the pain on Sunday . i had a fantastic time even though i did look a little odd sat with a hot-water bottle lol

i went and did a little Xmas shopping today with my mum , it is very windy here at the moment. Storm Abigail has hit us today my mum had to hold onto me as i almost blew away and that is with me on my crutches .. we did have a laugh about it when we got home luckily i only had to go to one shop who were very good at helping me. they let me sit down whilst i was looking at items and they also rang a taxi for me when it was time to go ..

i did however have a small fall when i got home i think i over did it again .i didn't fall to hard or from a height i was in fact trying to take my shoes off as my ankles were sore and hurting . i did land on my hip/bottom which is a little tender but bearable ...

i have been having more and more leg spasms. i had several whilst i was out today and they are happening most evenings. im still waiting for my scan appointments and neurology ones . pain clinic is going to be around 28 weeks or so .. things do go slow up this way xxx

we've been redecorating the boys bedrooms this week it has been fun watching the hubby doing all the work and me sat chatting and telling him where things are going ect ... i quite like this giving orders malarkey heheh

how have you been ??/ hope all is well and your daughter's chemo and treatments wll soon be over and she will be happy and healthy ... hopefully there wont be any problems with regards to the steroids she has been on

    love and best wishes xxx

Ooops a fall Emma! Not a good idea :?

I hope you are recovered now?

Storm Abigail did call in here too, but as we are in the Midlands not for too long/too hard. I take it you are much further North than us.

I do hope your scan apts come through sooner rather than later. Those spasms can be painful :(

We are lucky really because Lucy's consultant (Dr Tim) seems able to get appointments through pretty rapidly for Lucy. I think the word cancer helps. Mind you it'll be that that's caused it if she has any problems with her hip/shoulder.

I like making my husband to all the donkey work too. I garden and just let all my trimmings drop where they land and he has to clear them up!!

I hope the boys' rooms are looking good now :)

More Christmas shopping is needed for both of us I suspect, but hopefully some of it can be done via the internet ;)

Pouring down here today Emma - you take care if you go out.

    Love

hi Toni my son Lewis had his first grading session at Karate this afternoon . he is now a Yellow belt... it was really great to go and watch him. i booked a cab to take us there as it is at one of the local high schools...

i have had another 2/3 falls today before we went out and lots of dizzy spells so much so that i almost never made it but i was NOT missing this ... i have got a few bruises on my thigh where i fell the other day and my spasms are becoming a nightmare i cant do anything and they are getting stronger too ...i will be ringing my GP tomorrow about them and to sort some other stuff out too

i have had a pretty crappy week to be fair. the cab i ordered to pick us back up from the Grading session didnt turn up and my husband had to carry me home as i dont have a mobile phone .and i couldn't ring the cab firm to find out what was going on ..i felt humiliated, worthless and ashamed that i had to be carried like a baby home whilst my mum had to help watch the boys cross several roads and carry my crutches .i rang the cab company up when i finally got home almost an hour later and was told that there was a driver sat waiting for over 10 minuets .. we was waiting for 30 minuets before we set off and we even kept looking to see if it was on its way ... i will NEVER use them again ..

i am up near Blackpool in a little town called Fleetwood so we got pretty battered by the storm and we have had a pretty windy day today it is currently raining and blowing a gale right now

the boys bedrooms look fantastic and now i cant wait to have our bedroom done . i did want a deep purple but the paint i bought was off so i had to send it back and go for a lighter shade its called wild orchid i cant wait to see what it looks like when its finished ...

i had my decision back form my PIP claim to yesterday and i have been denied it as i didn't score high enough.. i will be ringing them tomorrow also to re-evaluate it as they didn't award me any points for dressing, monitoring my health condition and nutrition and toilet needs .. my mum and Scott have to make sure i have taken my medication as i forget which ones ive took. i always need prompting to eat during the day the only proper meal i eat is in the evening and as for dressing Scott has to help me every single day to get my lower half dressed i cant put my shoes on,socks or even pants . he does absolutely everything for me at the moment . he has even had to carry me to and from the loo as i just can not get there my legs either give out , tremble or im in that much pain and they are so stiff some days i cant even do my daily exercises that i have to do for my physio . i have to make sure that any appointments i have my mum and scott know when they are as my brain has literally gone to mush i cant remember the most simplest of things like where is the boys uniforms, coats where i put my meds or what date it is ect ...

i do hope you have had a much better week than i have and that hopefully Lucy is not in to much pain with her treatment and that she is doing ok.. how are you coping with everything ??? i know it can be really difficult going through something like this , and that it doesnt just effect Lucy but you all as a family ..im here for a shoulder to lean on or to rant and rave to if you ever need to ...

love and best wishes to you all

    Oh Emma!

You poor thing!! That must have been an awful experience for you :( Huge ((())) I am so sorry. What an awful firm they are. I wouldn't ever use them again either.

Listen - it was awful and humiliating, but the important person, your son, will probably only remember that you were THERE to see him get his yellow belt at his grading.

Thank God your husband was such a star too! I think you have a good one there.

I do hope that by now you have got on to your doctor because those spasms really need investigating :? They sound scary and it must be exhausting for you.

Good to hear the boys' rooms look great. Purple is my favourite bedroom colour, but when l met my husband my step-daughter likes it too so I let her have it :( we have duck-egg blue.

Sounds as though you absolutely have grounds to appeal the PIP decision. I know how hard it is to get these days, but if you google it you will see that the vast majority of appeals are successful. If it helps you can get help with appealing from CAB or some organisation like them.

My week has been ok so far, my back has been pretty rough, but I have decided to try 'walking' on the treadmill again as it's usually a bit better if I can exercise. I started this morning so I'll let you know if it helps.

Lucy is a super-strong girl you know. She was TERRIFIED of needles when all this started and so so frightened about it all. She's grown up such a lot and had hypnotherapy and now has blood-tests cannulas the lot without batting an eyelid. The mind is a powerful thing.

She is having her scan on her sore shoulder (probably very sore - she doesn't moan), on Monday at the hospital in Birmingham. I hope it's safe by then to go into a big city. :?

I have heard of Fleetwood :) We are in the Midlands in Staffordshire just north of Birmingham.

    Love to you all too

my husband was originally from Stoke-on Trent i think that's in Staffordshire ???.. i just goggled it to make sure yes it is .. are you anywhere near there ???

the world is a really small place .. hopefully it will be safe by then to go into the larger areas the world is going MAD . i just cant believe what's going on .. i don't watch it any more id rather not know and be blissfully ignorant and concentrate on my kids

i have been back to my GP yesterday he is weaning me off the Gabapentin as he thinks that may be causing some of the tremors , he is sending me to neurology to be seen by a specialist as MS has now been mentioned on 2/3 occasions. hes also sent me for more bloods today they took a lot i hate having it done it always hurts lol i bruise really easily and i am very slim so the pinching hurts like hell (yes i am a wuss )

i am feeling a bit better emotionally today . i was really bad at the weekend there was just a lot of things going wrong ect but like you said i did get to go and watch Lewis do his grading . it was so much fun ... he did really well as he is normally a quiet young boy who is usually picked on at school ( that was the main reason he started karate) .Riley loves coming to watch as well, hes 5 i have asked if he wants to start going too but hes still a little young yet and he barley listens to me so i doubt he would listen to the sensei . Riley does love football he does some after school clubs and football is one of them . the coach from Fleetwood town comes to help them learn basic football skills and he then picks some of the kids to join their youth teams depending in skills ect .. Riley has lots of energy he is always bouncing around ,climbing, running all over . he is ambidextrous so i think that is why hes so bloody hyper.both sides of his brain are working at the same rate instead of having a dominant side lol xx hes my little monkey :)

my hubby Scott really is my hero. we have been together for 13 years in February . we have been through lots together in that time . we got married last year 5th July and in the space of a year hes gone from having a life to being my full-time career. he literally does everything for me now .. i do do my exercises that i have been given from the physio and Scott helps me by pushing me a little further each day . he loves going to the gym and usually goes 3/4 times a week so hes quite buff lol but hes not one of those pretty boys though (yuk)

so do you have oat cakes where you are ?? or is that just in Stoke ? Scott loves them an hes finally converted me to liking them . his mum always brings him some back when she goes visiting the family usually every couple of months as her mum has dementia.

i hope all goes well on Monday with Lucy and the scan isnt to painful for her .. she sounds like a right trooper...i like the idea of the tread mill .. i hope you dont over do it though please be careful .. i have an excersie bike . ive only ever used it twice and they were for 5 minuets at a time lol i do need to get back on it but cant at the moment

as for Hypnotherapy ive never really thought much to it .. im glad its helped Lucy out with her fear of Needles .she is so brave having all those painful procedures done .. far to gory for me .. did i say i was a wimp ??

hope you feel better soon and try to rest your back so as to not cause to much pain or damage ...

i do love these messages and look forward to your replies xx its like having a pen pal lol xx

love to you all and healing wishes and prayers for Lucy xxxx

    Emma xx
