For a 2nd class stamp.

I buy them by the book. I have 4 books but need to send a card to France and was hoping to avoid the P.O. queue by just putting £1 worth of stamps on at home.

Should be on the website one would hope? The leaflet I have suggests that £1 should be OK for up to 20g, but you would need to check size and thickness to make sure it's classed as a letter rather than large letter.

My understanding is that a single second class stamp costs 56p! I try not to think about it too much I have to admit and generally buy them in books. If in doubt that one stamp is enough I put two on. It's usually worked!

Thanks both :areindeer: I'm fairly sure 2nd class are 50p or upwards so I put two on and said a prayer to the postal fairy

I think they are either 54p or 56p - hopefully you're covered! DD

Thanks Elizabeth. I thought today at work I'd over-estimated the price of a second class stamp. Oops. Sorry SW if I mis-led you! Shows how out of touch I am - should have checked first.
