Dear Iainmc welcome to Arthritis Care Forums.

As mods we are here to help with any problems you may have using the forums.

There are many lovely people who use the forums with a wide range of experiences in regards to having and living with arthritis. Have a good look through the different forums and pick the ones you feel are best for you.

    Best wishes,

    ModEm

Is that the same as ankylosing spondylitis? It's usually abbreviated to AS on here, I don't have it but some do: unfortunately they tend not to read this section so if you repost on the Living with Arthritis board on here you are more likely to be spotted. What meds are you taking at the moment? DD
Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben

Yes I have suffered this for 15 years. Learnt to live with it too.
Painkillers and anti inflammatory drugs is what keeps me going.
10 years ago I had all the scans under the sun and was told that
there was an operation that could help but it was 50-50 whether it would work.So my GP advised against it.
My biggest problem was getting out of bed in the mornings so he put me on Brufen retard which I take at night with food and it works over a twelve hour period.
Believe me it was like a miracle....not a cure but it means that
my body doesn't seize up and I can get out of bed.
