She has died aged 95. Best known for playing Nana in The Royle Family and Mrs Cropley in Vicar of Dibley. She passed away Christmas Eve.

Thanks for the laughs Liz - you were a brilliant actress. R.I.P.

    Oh she was a one, wasn't she? I loved her as Nana, she was the perfect fit for the part. I hadn't heard this, Grace, so thank you for the thread - what a ghastly year it has been for losing talented people. DD

    I'm getting too scared to put the radio on in the morning. I don't like hearing of so many deaths. Especially the young ones. :cry:

    It was only yesterday I watched the recording of the Royal family form Christmas eve..it was the one were she dies and very sad but funny...a brilliant actress...RIP
