As many of you might know, i'm going for my second steroid injection next Monday (10th). Anyone who can attend with pocket duties would be of a massive help, as i'm pinning a lot on this one.

Yes I realise that it may not last as long as the previous injection, but I really need some restbite (last night I hardly got any sleep).

Have literally just come back from my GP to have my steroid injection (a godsend itself, as it means avoiding a long wait to see a consultant at my local hospital), and the Dr was very nice, explaining the side effects etc, and to see how things are in 4 weeks.

If by the 4 weeks there is no niotceable difference, then it's back to my GP to get referred for an arthroscopy. It's not an easy choice to make, but I feel it is the right one (if it does indeed come to that).

Sorry I missed this, Alastair. I had a rather hectic social weekend.

How are things now? Has it helped? I hope so.

    Thanks for the reply Sticky

It's early days I guess, had 2 full nights sleep, so that is a good start. My knee was aching a bit today, but I just hope its the cortisine taking effect and not as I fear, not worked at all.

Well it seems even my positive attitude could not make this steroid injection last more than two days.

I was up last night with the familiar symptoms of my knee really aching, atleast twice, and right now I feel miserable.

would of been nice for this injection to last a little longer, but I was well aware it may not work, and low and behold it hasn't. So now it's a case of back to see my GP and get referred for an arthroscopy (as agreed at the pain management clinic).

    Plan B time, then?

I'm sorry it didn't work but my own experience of steroid jabs is that the more you have, in a particular joint, the less they work.

I wish you better luck with the arthroscopy.

Thanks for your replies, plan B it is.

Just glad I invested in a TENS machine, going to really need that whilst I wait for the surgery (once I have been referred)
