Hi, new to forum as going through really bad time right now and reckoned there would be real support here. I was diagnosed 3 years ago with rheumatoid and was in Humira over this last year but was taken off to see if it was triggering gastric issues- not really so went back on and taken off daily plaquenil. Body not happy so taken off again and waiting to 1Dec to start Truxima. But joint gone mad and in real pain. 3 steroid injections and including one in shoulder in last 4 weeks and still hell. now my jaw inflamed so eating a nightmare. GP put me back on Naproxen 3 days ago- specialist nurse not phoned back so will the Naproxen kick in enough before 1Dec as this level of pain is nearly unbearably and thought of several weeks of it before new biologic starts to work is just adding to my decline. What do you think- thanks in advance

Hello, I have PSA and OA and am currently taking humira but my pain levels have never decreased with any of the DMARDs, NSAIDs or anti-TNFs that I have tried. In my case I think I began the meds far too late with far too little thanks to my then GP not knowing anything about auto-immune arthritis including recognising the symptoms. I am now in my twenty-first year of it all so have a fair bit of experience under my creaky belt.

The best thing about the forum is we all get it because we've all got it. I hope you find the various boards and threads of interest and we will do our best to support and encourage. DD

Unfortunately there's no saying which meds will help which people or how long it will take. Much of arthritis involves trying to soldier on patiently in hope. I hope things have improved a little for you. It's difficult when things are rough.
