Would anyone have any tips on pain management? What has worked well? Any good gels/creams? I've tried almost everything but nothing is now working.

    Hi lynne 888,

Thank you for posting on our helpline forum. I am sorry to hear you are experiencing a lot of pain and nothing seems to be helping.

It may be good to arrange an appointment with your GP to review your pain relief medication and to see what other treatment may be helpful. In addition to anti-inflammatory gels/creams, there is a cream called Capsaicin which can be effective for some people. You could ask your GP about this, as it is only available on prescription.

The right kind of exercise to reduce stiffness can help you to move more freely and be in less pain. Your GP could refer you to a physiotherapist for an assessment and advice about exercises. Maintaining a healthy weight also helps to put less strain on your joints and reduce pain.
