Hi everyone

This is an update on our move to new community forums.

This last week has seen our fabulous moderator team being trained on the new forums with a preview of some of its added facilities that will be available.

There has also been a test of migrating our current forums across to the new set up. This has had a few initial glitches, unsurprising given there are over 11,000 members and more than half a million posts to manage :D

Whilst we sort things out, the forum will remain live over the coming week. Do expect an announcement shortly to say the migration is under way, at which point the forum will become Read Only.

We are excited and look forward to seeing you on the new community

Best Wishes

Sharon, Senior Community Officer
Yvonne and Brynmor, Community Officers
and your fabulous Moderator Team

Will our Log In details remain the same.or will we have to re-register?

    Hi Kath

Your log in details will remain the same as for here. You will just need to ensure you have your password to hand when it finally comes to the move - the new forum won’t remember who you are :)

Hope to hear some good news this week about the move, so will post on here as soon as we know the next steps.

    Best wishes

    Brief Note

Just a quick update to say work continues and we will be posting more details early next week on where we are with the move to our new platform.

Those glitches needed a bit more fixing than anticipated :D

Latest Progress... not a formal announcement!

Well, this is all good fun! :D

We are at the stage of a large-scale test of our new forum at the start of next week, having been held up by some stubborn glitches.

This is where we get a group of our staff not working on the forum to sign up and post to the test site to make sure it all works. Any remaining bugs are then highlighted for fixing.

A trial transfer run then takes place to make sure we are all set - nothing that will affect this forum.
    scold

All being well, we will be able to make an official announcement about the move and launch of the new forums.

I was wondering how things are progressing, being not in the slightest computery I am awed by anyone who can do such complex things.

I wish you all well in your endeavours. DD

Oh please do eliminate all bugs, Mod Bryn. Otherwise those of us on immunosuppressants won't dare come near

Hello, how is the bug-glitch eradication going? Have you scratched your heads to the point of baldness? DD

As I said earlier, I have absolutely no comprehension of the task you are facing (and dealing with) but I know this: I am very please it's you and not me. :D I am looking forward to seeing the new forum, this one certainly has its limitations (bit like me). DD
