Stir crazy

I am a carer for my husband who has arthritis. We have been on lockdown since we came home from a good holiday on 10th March. I have cabin fever. I spend most of my time on-line chasing grocery deliveries and pharmacy arrangements to collect medication. Life is getting very difficult.

Hi @Kindelpop, welcome to the forum.

I am sorry to hear you are having a such a difficult time. Caring for a loved one can be physically and mentally demanding, and that is only compounded with the COVID-19 isolation measures. This is likely easier said than done but try to make sure you are putting time aside to look after yourself as well. Can you calve out some time each day to spend on hobbies you can enjoy from home? I’ve found reading to be a nice escape and spending time video calling friends and family is also helping.

We have a COVID-19 discussion on the forum with specific topics on mental health and coping mechanisms during the lock-down. I have provided the link below as this may be of some help to you.

In addition, I have provided a link below with general information for carers which you may find useful.

Please feel free to pop back in and let us know how you are getting on.

    Best wishes,

    Alice

Thank you I have been spring cleaning, ironing, and gardening. I have found that I have now cleaned

, ironed and gardened everything! I would welcome some "me" time but I have been sleeping a lot in the quiet times. This would seem like a good thing as care for someone 24/7 means sleep can be very rare. I do seem to be so sleepy now!
