It could be Brachialgia which is one of the things I suffer with, basically it is pain in the arm associated with something like a trapped nerve (I have OA in my spine and neck as well as everywhere else) but mine does affect my hands as well. I have trouble holding a phone so always put it on speaker and rest it on my shoulder. Suggest you see your GP.

  • Hi Iornab,

Thank you for posting on our Helpline forum. I am sorry to hear about the pain and numbness you are experiencing in your fingers, particularly when holding objects. As Mike1 has said, it sounds as if it would be good to make an appointment with your GP.

I am not sure from your post whether you have a type of arthritis and what may be causing the numbness in your fingers. We are not medically trained. Your GP will be able to help diagnose what is going on and explore treatment options. Sometimes it can be helpful to see a hand therapist. This could be a physiotherapist or an occupational therapist (OT).
