Hi all.

Really pleased to be part of the community. I’m hoping for some useful advice on my situation here. Had pain and buckling in my knee for two years now. In November I had surgery to trim my lateral meniscus due to a horizontal tear, and again two weeks ago I had further surgery for the remaining meniscus to be repaired. I was called back a few days after and my surgeon informed me I have 30% bone loss in the lateral compartment of my knee. He’s referring me to have a part knee replacement of the area affected.

my question is.. would it have worn that quickly or is it likely I have had OA for a long time. I cannot recall any injury to cause the meniscus tears and the team in theatre asked me how I did it and looked very confused.

my hands and knuckles swell every night too.

thanks again
