Thoracic pain in AS
Hi
I have ankylosing spondylisitis which is generally well managed with adalimumab but more and more getting pain and discomfort in the thoracic part or my spine (around the bra line) and neck. I don't want to be taking anti inflammatories or pain killers all the time. Any advice?

Hi @Momes
I had an online consultation with a pain consultant last year and she prescribed me capsaicin cream and Ralvo lidocaine patches. The patches were initially intended for my shoulder and knee but as I've got bulging discs at the base of my spine I use them there and use the capsaicin cream for my knees and shoulders. I think they both help and I now rarely have to resort to painkillers. I should qualify that by stating I was also put on biologics last year which have helped greatly but I think both the capsaicin cream and lidocaine patches help with localised pain and discomfort.
