MTX and live vaccinations

Hello

As I am on MTX I'm aware I need to avoid live vaccines but does this extend to avoiding my children when they have live vaccines - I understand the MMR has a 'live' component to it and I have young children who will be having it soon - what shall I do, can I do nappies, should I hold them? Please help!

Many thanks.

    hi ramummy,

No reply yet to this from the Team so I've 'pushed' it to the top, I too need some clarification about this. H

Hope they see it! My grandson has 2nd injections next week.

    Hi ramummy and jackie
Sorry we don't have the answer to your question but we are trying to find out for you. It is quite a specialised question and really one for your rheumy to answer but we'll do our best.

The reply from the rheumy that answers our questions for us is that if you have had the MMR yourselves then you should have an immunity but this is something you should discuss with your individual doctors.
    Hope this helps.
