First job trainee stockman on a local farm.
First love was a daughter of a mechanic who worked at me dads garage.
First day at school I wailed like a banshee!.
Left home when I was 22.
First holiday was a boating holiday when I was 18,went with me sister her now husband and her best mate.0 -

My first job(s) - Saturday jobs, morning working as a packer in a laundry/afternoons working at a boarding school as a 'housemaid'.
My first love - ooh, yes, remember him well at school.....he was tall, dark and handsome........but what the hell was his name?
My first day at school - remember that vividly.....I bawled for 5 mins, decided I was having nothing to do with it, and legged it home. Mum had gone shopping on her way home, so I got there before her........was sitting on the doorstep waiting when she arrived.
Left home? Sort of left at 10 to live with relatives, left finally when got married in 1965.
First holiday without parents? See above!

My first Job was working in a hairdressers on a saturday sweeping up hair.
My first love was called Andrew i was going to marry him, i was only 7.
First day at school sitting in the hall with my mum and new gym bag writing my name with a crayon on the back of some wallpaper.
Left home when i was 21.
First holiday without parents a school trip 5 days in Germany (Black Forrest) went the day before my 13th Birthday.

I remember about the SS Uganda. They were marvellous educational cruises, weren't they? I think the ship served in the Falklands War too.0 -

Hi Annie
I like your account of your first day at school. I bet your Mum got a shock when she came home :!:
She wasn't surprised........she knew me well. Took me straight back there and they had discovered I had gone, of course. Mum got them to give me a book to read........no problems after that. I looked on early school as a milch cow for books! Oddly enough I don't remember getting into any 'trouble' for it!

Better answer my own questions:
1.What was your first job?
A primary school teacher at a school in a mining village. Great kids.
2.Who was your first love?
A boy who sat next to me at school aged 11. He let me copy all his maths because I couldn't do it. Wonder why I falied the 11plus?
3. Do you remember your first day at school?
I remember threading some beads on a shoelace and thinking why am I doing this?
4.When did you first leave home?
Left home at 18 to go to college in London. Thought I was the bees knees!!
5.What was the first holiday you went on without your parents?
Aged 12, I went to Spain with school. Absolutely loved it.0 -
Joan i don't know why i remember that but it has allways stuck in my mind.

Hi Joan,
1.What was your first job? Slave labour in a riding stable as a week end job.
2.Who was your first love? Like Annie I don't remember his name but I rally loved him and we used to spend hours together as well..... Was he called Richard, I don't remember.
3. Do you remember your first day at school? Yep they had to lock the doors to keep me in and yelled a lot cus I could open and climb through windows...... I fine tuned truancy as I got older
4.When did you first leave home? When I was 5 r 6 I went to live with my Nan and Grandad for a few years. I had to go back but left for good at 16.
5.What was the first holiday you went on without your parents? Same as Annie here see above really and the were good years

2.Who was your first love? David and I were inseperable aged 5-10.Then we sort of fell out.He had 5 kids by his early twenties! Sadly he died when he was 24 in a building accident leaving his 5 children fatherless.

4.When did you first leave home?16 I got a bedsit as I couldnt stand my parents argueing. I did go home a lot though cos I missed myhome comforts.
5.What was the first holiday you went on without your parents?I went to a camp at Hind Leap, East Grinstead aged 10.We did climbing and assault courses.

1.What was your first job?
Working in a care home for the elderly. They treated the residents really badly (cheap food, never took them out anywhere) and I hated it.
2.Who was your first love?
Sham when I was 14. I fell for him pretty badly, he didn't even know I existed... it still makes me smile to think of my "agony" :-)
3. Do you remember your first day at school?
I remember the smell of polish and disinfectant more than seeing anything.
4.When did you first leave home?
When I got married in 1997.
5.What was the first holiday you went on without your parents?
Belgium with Primary School when I was 10. I loved it, but was very homesick towards the end of the 2 weeks!
