Oooooh annie_mial, you a Moomin fan too? Good stuff, innit? I lent my stories to someone and they never returned them. I must replace, methinks.
I hope you are as well as you can be - I am down to 9.5 per diem now, reducing to 9 the week after next. It's getting harder, I can feel the difference. :sad:Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0 -

And , as they are locked , they tend to be very much cleaner than the usual public loos ! Jillyb0

Hi, I have had a radar key for years - originally for S, when he got to big to sneak into the ladies as he is too vulnerable to send unaccompanied into the gents. As my hip got worse it was great for me too - a nice high toilet with rails to lever up on.
Applied online. Someone else has already posted the link.
SpeedyI have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.0 -
I got my key off eBay, only cost a couple of quid. Depending on where you buy it you may be asked to 'prove' that you are disabled, this for me just meant saying 'yes', it's not checked. I am not on any benefits.
The key is like the mortice lock keys. You can separately lock the toilet when you get in it.
As they are 'restricted access' toilets by their nature they are usually cleaner and tidier than normal.
It's sometimes the most accessible by it not being up/down stairs in restaurants etc too.
I've not needed to use mine much, I often use the standard toilets even though I walk with sticks, but on occasion the extra handrails in the disabled ones are very useful!

Thank you everyone for your help. Now I am home again I plan to research this further and furnish myself with a key! I think it could be a very useful thing to have to hand, yes? DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0
