Struggling to lose weight even after diet & exercise — should I consider surgery?

Hey everyone,
I’m 25 and have been overweight most of my life. Over the last year, I tried gym workouts, intermittent fasting, and even cut down on sugar completely. I lost a few kilos but then my weight just stopped dropping.

Recently, a friend mentioned weight loss surgery as an option — like gastric bypass or sleeve gastrectomy. Honestly, I always thought surgery is for extreme cases, but now I’m wondering if it’s something I should explore.

Has anyone here gone through bariatric surgery? How was your experience — recovery, lifestyle changes, long-term results?

Would love to hear your thoughts and personal stories.

    Welcome @nitin122 to the community

We are a friendly group who support anyone affected by living with arthritis.

Certainly many of our members have talked about concerns with weight loss especially if it becomes a restriction for a surgical procedure . All the methods of weight loss you have described are ones which do make a difference but like you numbers of us have found that it is difficult to maintain the new weight. The exercise videos (link on the home page ) are very helpful to maintain flexibility and mobility of our joints and muscles and work towards weight loss. Alongside that the Hints and Tips and Mediterranean diet information pages offer more support.

Meanwhile I hope that others will share their tips and experiences of trying to lose weight.

    Best wishes
