Hi, The rain and wind have arrived in Norfolk now! Teach me to boast about it being a nice day, well it was! My back's been bad today, and my hands are red and sore at the joint and they seem to be twisting   Its getting hard to write these days. I can manage the keyboard more, but my speed and accuracy have gone down the toilet, round the U-bend and off to the sewer!:mrgreen:

I'm filling in my ESA form, so feeling a bit off. Also made a bit of a mess of the handwritting - its embarrising. I wish they came on-line or at least so that it could be scanned into the computer, as it would be much neater! No good asking o/h to do it as his handwriting is typical scientist, totally unreadable. When it comes to my birthday card I always thank him writing such nice things - he writes a lot - and hope it is nice things hes wirtten. I am fed up with filling in forms, which, with my hands hurting as well as my head, drive me mad.
Sorry, ranting again! Love Sue

    Hi Sue,
Sorry you've had a painful day today and filling in forms with sore fingers/ hands is not much fun!.............. I thought you could fill in the ESA form online via the direct.gov website? I know you can complete most other forms online.......what a pain in the neck (not to say pain in the hands) having to fill it in the old fashioned way.

It's a feature, isn't it, of all of us who have arther affecting the hands that our writing is worse than a spider's trail..... even my attempt at printing letters is illegible (so my family tell me). If they were to do psychological profiling using samples of handwriting I'd probably be locked up as some kind of dangerous nutter.

Ho hum...hope you have a better day tomorrow....at least you've got the form filled.............haven't you? Dorcas x

Hi Sue,Like you I've been finding it a real chore when having to fill in forms, writing letters etc. :( My handwriting has deteriorated a lot since getting OA and RA,and believe it or not,I find it much easier to type than to hold a pen and write.I know some sufferers say typing causes them more pain but I've not found that.Strange isn't it how the disease effects people differently? Hope you'll have a better day today. Love Breane. :)

Hi Thanks Joseph, I didn't know that and I never even thought to check! That would be much better for me as holding a pen is hard and my handwritting becomes hard to read after a few line! I think it looks like some of the little old ladies that I used to look after, which isn't strange as a lot of them had arthritis in their hands! :D

It is strange about typing, I think the carpel tunnel thing slows it down a bit as the nerves are not as good as they should be! But it is still miles better than writting and I don't feel so stupid! I used to type long reports and design tables for figures or charts for scientific letters used in biochemistry! On a computer. of course, and computers when I first started, were a lot different, no Windows, all DOS. I wont go on or I'll bore you all to death, but it is fantastic how, over the past 20 years things have changed! Getting OLD.

Those who complain about Windows have probably never programmed in DOS, (can you remember the location/name.exe of every program on your computer?). Though HTML, Flash, ASP.NET and SQL which I use to build websites are more complicated today. Are the bad old days!
