Hello,
I have just been to see my GP for the blood test results and I feel very lucky to say that they are normal. Thats one major worry that I don't have to think of any more. Well, until they have to be done again, anyway! :)

She has also 'firmed up' my esa report to include all the medical terms of the spinal problems and what they mean I can't do. Also that I am waiting to see a neurologist about some very long words that mean I have diagnosed elbow nerve entrapment and fossa cubital compression, which mean I have limited function in my arms and hands. So I do hope that they read it.

I hope that I will be able to have some surgery to help with the pain in my arms. Seeing it written down, now I've got over the shock of last weeks stark reality, makes me feel that I really have got a problem and its not all in my head. Thats how I've felt at times, I don't want to make a fuss, but am I making it up? Is the pain as bad as I think it is, all silly, but it does go though my mind!

Anyway, enough moaning for now, hope everyones not too bad, dispite this dreary, wet weather! :) Love Sue

it's great that you've got a good GP even if what she has to say is not too great to read!

sorry you are having this battle but at least someone is on your side .... surely they have to believe your GP?!

Going by experience they don't believe your doctor, consultant anyone.

I called today to find out the progress of my DLA claim, was told that they are not sure if they have my medical. I challenged this as it was carriedout over 3 weeks ago and the form was completed on the spot. They told me that they may have it but it's not logged on the system until it is being worked on. My oroginal calim was submitted at the end of August, was refused on the 28th of October and appealed and was told that I may have to wait 11 weeks for another decision.

I was asked at the medical when I expected to be better and cured???

Another thing is the 'doctors' who carry out these medicals, are they real doctors? If so why would they choose to sit and fill in forms all day, very little medical examination. I did notice a lot of them were polish, russian, european.

This whole system is a shambles and those who have genuine illnesses/conditions are being penalised. Will get off my soap box but this makes me so angry.

I have been through all this, heard the same excuses about 3 times now. Have tried to get in touch with CAB but they are inundated and cannot take any more on until after Christmas, by wich time it will probably be too late. As I am now 65, they will not be paying DLA after this age. I lose about £210 a month mobility as from now. Will only get £18 care component instead.

As you say the system is a shambles now and will get even worse.

Hi, I also have some of the paper work and reports stateing my condition and the Councils doc saying I can't be re-deployed - he is a specialist in Occy Health medicine and has the letters after his name! I must be honest though, and say I'm not expecting to get through without a fight, but I will fight. Its shameful the way the Government is treating disabled and ill people. I think that their may even be a Human Rights issue, but I'm no lawyer. It would be interesting to see someone take a case all the way!!!
