Counting Down

and it starts tonight........this is Move Week -1!

I have spent several hours on my knees and hands in the cupboard under the stairs. I was under a misapprehension..............hubby told me he'd done it........yeah, right. One bag of rubbish and several splinters later it is done!

I am knackered and if I see another cardboard box I will do my best to get into it, seal it up and lurk in there till Friday. Failing that, I will pack my knees in it and send them on ahead of me. Not to mention other bits and pieces that keep reminding me I have them.

The story continues..........

    Good luck, Annie :!: I hope it will all go smoothly for you. My last house move was 35 years ago. It was so traumatic that I have never wanted to repeat the experience :!: :shock:

    Poor Annie,

    It is the worse thing in the world and I hate it.All the worry and stress and heavy lifting is a nightmare.I feel for you Annie.Where are you moving too?I know it is Sussex but there are lots of little towns along the coast.
    I hope you get lots of help.

    To Worthing, Elizabeth. Are you a Sussex girl? Daughter's in-laws live in Polegate and always have, I believe. Daughter and SIL live in Worthing and that is why we are moving there.

    Hi Annie hope alls going well first things first find the kettle and associated bits ,get a comfy chair in place make sure YOUR bed is made up then sit with a cupper and dish the orders out , :lol:

    I am from Eastbourne total Sussex girl at heart.Brothers have a shop in Polegate.I do know Worthing as friend used to live there but she has moved to Goring-on-Sea now.

    Hope to visit family sometime before September finances permitting!

    I am hoping that the move will go really smoothly for you. It is a very difficult thing to undertake, but once there, at least you will be near your daughter and that can only be good.

    Wished I lived near my daughter, who has now moved from London to Stroud.

    Hi to all and thank you for the good wishes and vibes!

    I had a fairly cheering Rheumy appointment this morning and am thankful it is over. Basically, things are moving in the right direction but rather more slowly than she would like. It seems to be a case of two steps forward and one back, but that is probably due to the circumstances around me just now, so hopefully I will pick up a bit more in the next few weeks as we get settled in.

    Joy - sorry to hear that you are being checked for GCA. If you want any help, do PM me........I'm an old hand at it now!

    Elizabeth, we are on the outskirts of Worthing, about half-a-mile from Goring, which is where our new doctor's surgery is........I can walk there even going at my pace.

    Everything else seems to be going fine, need to get my head round the last of the packing up, think a take away on Wednesday is in order!

    Hi Annie,

    A big (((((((((( )))))))))) and well you are slowly getting there and hopefully the run will say your moving a bit faster next time.

    I hate moving and really hope it all goes well for you. no river to flood and a garden and the sea much better :D You rest a bit though and don't knock your self out.

    Thanks to all for your replies and good wishes, we are running rather behind now as yesterday turned into 'one-of-those' days.

    Ummmm - has anybody seen a BT van going hell for leather down the M25?

    You make sure you pace yourself. Don't want you getting sick.

    You have done so well with the moving so try and rest as well.

    It is not long now is it? I have been counting down the weeks with you, now we only have days.

    It sounds like an incantation I must pace myself, I must pace myself. I am sitting down again now after crawling across the kitchen floor - I have got a muscle spasm in my ribs, wish I hadn't done that.

    I've also got a cuppa and a bickie. Thank you, hubby.

    It is nearly D Day (or M Day).

    So far all going as well as we could expect; it's been a very long day and will be the same tomorrow so I am off to my bed soon.

    Will hopefully be back here on Friday.
