mike update about car

well a neibhour , called asking if I would like him to sit with me while I went for a drive. we went for a long drive , the man thought I was driving well , he was not scared ,I found that when I use the ball all the time I tend to drift towards the kerb , but when I only use it to turn corners and keep holding the steering wheel down a bit , everything is ok

    What a lovely guy - what a helpful thing to do! I am not surprised you drift a bit, Mike - it's a big car and one should always have two hands on the wheel for the majority of the time anyway. Hold the ball, sure, but also hold the wheel - the more you can practise the easier it will all become. I wish you well - did you picnic in your car on Christmas Day? I could easily picture the three of you in it! Oooh, I nearly forgot: have you had any problems with your water supply? Apparently many people have had, I wondered if you were affected. DD
