DLA

I have been diagnosed for nearly nine years and was claiming DLA, recently they reviewed my situation, sent a GP out to the house and it ended up going to tribunal, obviously I lost my appeal. They say because I am a learning disability support worker, community based that I cannot claim DLA as I am a 'carer' . What I'd like to know is can I put in another claim again?

    Yes you can and i would consider going to appeal, no one lives in the ideal situation and these people should know this, i have my brother careing for me and he has a prolasped disc and i have days where i have to care for him aswell, so they shouldnt discrimate against you in any way good luck soraya :smile:

    Sorry realised you went to appeal and lost apply again i dont know the rules if you are recieving carers allowance they may be different :smile: check it out with c.a.b. or benefits agency x

    I am not receiving carers benefit. It is because I work as a community support worker, they said due to the nature of my work, I cannot be assisted!! The whole purpose of DLA is to help make life easier, ie buy equipment for self to do everyday tasks around the house, I did tell them that I thought they were discriminating against me but made no difference. Was just wondering that as I have had it previously and lost it would I be able to put new claim in, RA is a changeable condition, somedays its okay and I get by but others I am crippled. :sad:

    They stopped the lot and with no explanation other than that when the GP had examined me on that specific day in March he did not see any symptoms or any equipment in my house ( we pointedly asked him if he wanted to see it but he said that did not matter). As everyone knows we have good days and bad days!
    I just want to kno if I can re-apply as went to tribunal appeal and was turned down.
