We went out for a meal last night.
I got changed and put on my comfortable, Clarkes, velcro fastening brown shoes. It felt as if my sock was bundled under my right foot so I took that shoe off, pulled my sock about and put it back on again. No better!
I tried again - no, still the same.
I changed to a wider pair of shoes that felt better, but not perfect.
When we got home I examined my foot, especially the ball where the problem seemed to be. It appeared to be swollen, just that foot, and it felt a bit tender to touch.
Has anyone else had this problem? Is it the arthritis in my toes/feet causing it? I have had Plantar Fascilitis in the past, but that was much more painful and in the middle of the sole of my foot.

Hi Polly
poor you
I wear those shoes l think you mean....with air-cushioning in them?
have you thought about asking GP's advice incase the arthritis is in your joints in your feet? he may be prepared to refer you to podiatry which can really help some people.

Hi Polly
This sounds a lot like something i had a few years back.........i was worried and went to a Podiatrist.it turned out it was a Plantar Digital Neuroma.......good fitting shoes will do the trick.
Try to see a Podiatrist asap
Look for a store near you called Foot Solutions.................they are unbelievably helpful people trained extremely well. They are expensive shoes, but hey, what price comfort?
Good luck xx0 -
I always buy Hotter shoes, find them well cushioned and appreciate the wider fitting and velcro fastening.Recently did a 2 hour walk despite still having some discomfort after ankle replacement surgery............''Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy''. Hi Polly,
Mine swell and are tender st times and its always 'just' put down to the fact they don;t work quite right and so get inflamed.
I agree it could do with being checked out and I hope you can see a podiatrist as thats the best person really.
As to shoes.... I ware boots a lot and the air cushioned ones are by far the best though I do have full safety boots and steel capped trainers with insoles in em .... I am meant to be a small holder not just a bit odd
I get huge cramp in the feet and tis only the steel ones that stop the feet from being able to cramp up... kinda like splints in a way.
I really hope you can get some advice for yours and let us know what they say please. Cris x0 -
Could it be a rheumatoid nodule? I had already two of them removed from my left foot. They were like hard lumps on the bottom of my foot, close to my toes. They got quite big and were sore to walk on, and because of them some of my toes stopped touching the ground and got deformed.0
