Oh mig Lovely to hear from you :)

    Enjoy yourself won't you?

Hi Marrianne :) Sunshine here so far today looks lovely. Hoping to go to the David Austen Roses place later and take Lucy. Their food id lovely! Hope your pain is easier for you today :?

Morning toady :) If your boots are comfy you should wear them I reckon. Hope you are enjoying your bank holiday. Regarding photos - you could just scan them and put them on a memory stick for each member of the family? Then you could catalogue them by number and write a little bit. That way they will go safely into the future :)

Barbara I am sat here in my slippers which I have worn for YEARS!! I do believe that us lot need sensible ones (no fluffy heels  ) so they don't fall off or make us scrunch our toes.

You snails are going to be hard to get rid of as they follow the same path every night and as toady said they will come back if you only remove them :( My slugs have a path which takes them over the top of the milk bottles so if we bring them in too soon  yuk!!

I reckon best bet is to find their point of entry. There has to be a way in I suppose....

You are not boring and I am going to agree with toady - people do get cliquey and I reckon that was the problem. Remember Livinglegend? Well he goes to an art class near me...I'd always intended to go one day when life got easier

Hello Joan :) Thank you I intend to have a good bank holiday and hope you all do too especially little Peppa :)

Christine Hello :) I hope you have a lovely day there and get into your garden. We do indeed intend to have a good day today if Lucy is up to it. We have sunshine - gardening weather!! We need to get out there :D

Hello Elizabeth. If I was you I would feel a bit powerless with it being other people who cause the noises which set you lad off. I think you should (and I am certain you already have) keep pushing for respite. Who is it who says "You can't look after numbers 2,3,4(etc) if you don't look after number 1"

I will try not to catch your germs, but hope you feel better soon :) YOu know the problem with Lucy's weight loss is that, if she gets neutropenic sepsis or febrile neutropenia they can only give her ONE!! yes ONE!!!! paracetamol to get her temp down. So our aim is 50kg.

Those build-ups are ok and she will drink them - with full-fat milk. We have the powdered ones from the hospital. Chocolate and Strawberry are her favourites.

I hope today is peaceful for you and you get a little bit of peace in the sun.

Love to everyone I have missed and apols

    love

The sun is shinning for now..

Mig you have a lovely time you deserve it..when you are eating your evening meal think of us lot  cant wait to hear all about it when you come back
Marianne sorry the pain levels are up,its wise to keep the pain dullers down till needed..maybe they are needed now.. we do live backing on to farm lands..just a thought they will be slugs not snail they have shell :? ..oops my brain went..I do like snails..
Toni..it lovely to see you in the cafe...did you get your free coffee..you have a lovely day at the roses place...sorry mi brains gone again..one paracetamol to get Lucy temp down..gosh :o good job they know what they are doing... :) hope her weight rises and keeps stable and it will ..I do remember Joseph he was a big help to me..and so clever with comps and anything electronic..I think painting would be good for you when Lucy is better :D
right I am off out ..just gone dark but who cares..see you all later hope you have a goodish day...xxxxxx

Oh Toni it is so difficult. She needs to keep her weight up but the treatment and nausea can make impossible so she has to grab the opportunity to build up when she can. The chicken noodle soup is a great suggestion too as its not too heavy. I know the build ups are heavy but they do digest well don't they? vanilla was my fave flavour.

I tend to wear just socks or bare feet Barbara as I've had so much trouble finding decent slippers. OH wants to buy me those velcro strap ones.

It is raining here but as you know I'm okay with rain. It has been a tough few days so far but I'm pacing myself.

Well my headache seems to have gone after 3 days. Its just been background but still yuk.

I remember Living legend and his art work. I haven't done any art this year because of the fatigue. I haven't even managed to have my hair cut and dyed for ages. I'm proper run down at the mo.

Mig have a lovely cruise. I think you said you are going to Belgium. Bring us back some chocs!

I think i know where I'll throw the snails! actually everything seems fine in the garden and my hollyhocks are growing beautifully :D still haven't planted out the new ones though.

hoping Bubbles Mum is still okay and Joan is feeling better.

Hello all :) been a niceish sunnyish day but with that electric-y feeling like it might go black all of a sudden. Seems to be plenty rain elsewhere. Not much going on here, so I will sit and spin out a cup of tea for an extended length of time before shifting myself to go do some chores. Turning over a new leaf next week, barbara, ah that idea works for me. Good luck for the mri tomorrow, I will have to hop in your pocket and tell you a long boring story, you will nod off in there.

Sorry you're tired today applerose, & TK.. Haircuts, what are those.. it's been so long. Hope the headache is staying at bay.

Toni I hope you got some gardening weather, I will make it into Garden thread one day soon. Hope the trip out went well. :) Yes I ought to round up all the family pics but feel daunted at the idea at the moment, they are all very muddled up thanks to people not keeping them organised in the past. Even getting them scanned would be a start though. My boots are comfy and kind of funky :D they were bought as a bit of an impulse off e*ay & became favourites.

Marrianne I can't remember when I last went in my bank branch I do most things online and don't even have a proper local branch now anyway. Just as well internet banking came in when it did.

Glad to hear your mouth is improving joan :) and hope everyone is keeping the slugs and snails at bay

Doesn't feel like a Tuesday, so that's bank hols for you I will be out all week.. have a good whatever day tomorrow is folks, xx.

Marrianne, there have been a few times I've not got round to putting money in the bank on time even if there hasn't been a bank holiday. I don't like snails or slugs. I had slugs coming in to the kitchen so I feel a bit scared of them now. Yuk.

Barbara, hope it goes well tomorrow. A hospital with no parking? Must be difficult for a lot of people to get there. I was talking to someone, quite a few weeks ago now, who said she'd been to a mediation place in Manchester which was free. Can't remember now what it was called. Wonder if it was your neighbour's parents'. I wear crocs (well a cheaper version). They are very comfy. Wonder if it's because they don't actually support your feet. I didn't think of that.

Joan, hope your mouth is better now.

Toady, the only reason I go in to my bank is to put money in as I get paid in cash. It is quite a task after many years of taking photos to now scan them. My sister's scanner isn't working. She's been taking photos of them and uploading them to her laptop. I've scanned quite a few. Don't think my scanner is a really good one but it does well with most photos. Some are a little hazy though.

Elizabeth, I'm glad your headache has finally gone. it can get you down even if it is in the background. Snails. Yuk! I was in the garden for a short while on Monday and picked up a few of them and threw them on to the path for the blackbirds.

Mig hope you are enjoying yourself.

Toni, I had a problem with slugs coming in to the kitchen. I read somewhere that they always follow the same pathways so every day, I squirted bleach everywhere they had been. I think I have eventually got rid of them. Hope Lucy is doing ok and her weight is still going up.

Well I didn't get any painting done. I spent most of Sunday just sitting as I felt so tired. Monday I did a tiny bit in the garden but it was so boggy and muddy. Then my grandson phoned and asked if I'd like to go for a bbq so that was lovely. Today our town had a poll to find out how many people wanted to leave our council and go to Yorkshire. Don't know the results yet but, apparently, there were long queues of people waiting to vote. Must get off to bed before I fall asleep downstairs.

Sorry, but every time I come to the cafe, I seem to have bad news. Not even over Sandra yet, and now, one of my Valentine friends has lost her 21 year old daughter in a car accident. Don't know any details, but so very sorry for the family. I can't help wondering what is going to happen next.

Another sorry, but I haven't had time to read others' posts - my head is all over the place right now. :? :?:

Hope all are sort of ok and that the change in the weather hasn't affected anyone adversely. Sending everyone big, gentle hugs. xxx

    Very quiet in here.

Oops Marrianne. Accidents happen. I think vouchers are good then you can buy whatever you want.

Barbara, bet you're glad that's over. You did well. Glad they now have more parking. There is never enough at hospitals, is there?

I'm sorry about your friend's daughter Kath. How awful. I'm not surprised your head is all over the place. Don't worry about checking posts. There are always a lot these days.

I told you about the elderly man across the road going in to a home because he kept falling. Across the road from him, a lady, who had been ill in hospital for some time, came home recently. I found out a few days ago that she committed suicide last week. Yesterday, while I was in the garden, I heard the girl next door talking on the phone. She was saying that someone had fallen downstairs and cut his head open and they were waiting for him to wake up and didn't yet know how he had been affected. I'm not sure but think she could have been talking about her husband.

Our town had the poll yesterday to see how many people wanted to change councils, back to where we had been for many many years. About a quarter of the electorate voted (which was a very good turnout considering it wasn't advertised, there were no voting cards or postal votes and the polling stations were only open for 5 hours). 89% voted to move. Now our present council, the one we want to go to and the boundaries commission have to discuss it to decide if it will be allowed.

Hope no-one is feeling unwell and they are just busy.

Evening, it is a sad atmosphere in here isn't it :( Kath I'm sorry about your friend, that's so awful. What a terrible thing. :(

Applerose your news is of tragedies too, although the elderly lady is at the opposite end of the age spectrum and it's sad in a different way. Hope the gentleman that has injured himself is going to be alright, an accident can change everything in such a split second. Hope you are doing ok today having been out to the polls and being tired Sunday & last night. They covered your local poll issue briefly on the BBC midnight news last night, I have just listened again as I only caught the end. Basically outlining what you have told us, that the poll is an unofficial one & the boundaries commission will have to make their own judgment. It does sound an official mishmash as it is, with a Teesside postcode, a Cleveland police service & council tax payable to Stockton. Will be interesting to hear what happens.

Three cheers for barbara and her 35 mins of bravery :) well done for holding your nerve, especially as your options for lying comfortably were limited. Are you unsure yet whether your next appt is the 7th/8th or just didn't know without checking  hope it's convenient anyway.

Love to all posters & readers, quite cold here still & a wettish as far ahead as the 10 day forecast goes  got to change sometime surely. Tea for me I think. Some cherry & almond biscuits in the tin. xx

Kath I am so sorry to hear about your friends daughter..how awful..just goes to show you have to try and make every day count..I hope you are doing okish
Toady I even patted myself on the back, I couldn't get my breath when I went in :o ..she gave me the head phones but no music..and they don't protect your ears from the noise..oh well over with now.. :D not good gardening weather is it...
Christine..I do hope they listen to the poll wish we could rally people here ..like I said we were under Lancashire..the poor lady that committed suicide..bless she ..its so scary for old people has to were will they end up..this is my worry :? I hope your neighbours husband will be ok...
My son had his lump measured yesterday still not grown but not a clue when they will do it..and he has not seen anyone about the scans on his pancreas has the consultant is on hols,,now I am off out for tea and cake...will see you laterxxxxxxx

Afternoon all, I'm ok really, just a bit befuddled and bemused with recent events. :?

Isn't it cold today, just can't get warm at all.

Barbara, so sorry to hear your son hasn't had anything conclusive. Very frustrating.

Applerose, such a tragic story about your neighbour. No wonder we are all feeling a little gloomy. :(

Toady, local areas can be so confusing. My town is geographically in Derbyshire and education, health, police and fire service are all administrated from there, but has a Nottingham post code and dialling code. Whilst my village on the outskirts of the town is actually half in Derbyshire and half in Leicestershire - just to confuse the issue more!!

I'm going to sit by the fire whether it is lit or not, and have some buttered crumpets/pyclets and coffee and try to get warm. xx

Kath that is dreadful news and for one so young.

Well done Barbara. I've never had to go through this and don't think I could. It was bad enough having my ankle done and having to keep it still. I wish they'd get a move on with your Son.

Marianne I always give cheques or vouchers (apart from OH Sister because she buys me a gift so I do likewise). They can have the pleasure of shopping (some people love it) and choosing something they want.

Christine it is always awful when somebody commits suicide as you know they must have been in such distress. The council are also so pushy and choices are made on their behalf so they feel like they have lost control.

Well funeral was packed, over 400 attended. I couldn't go because of the children but OH was there.

Glad Joan is better. I've held off with my injection just to give the cough a chance to clear. I've had some lie-ins to match my Sons sleep patterns. The weather is cold here but we haven't had any rain this morning.

Has Bubbles been in? I do hope her Mum is recovering slowly but surely.

Thankyou for the biscuits Toady :) I was determined to get a smile on my thread somehow.

    All the best Elizabeth xxx

Toady, you have picked up a lot of what's what where I live. You are right. We don't know whether we are coming or going and, when filling online forms in, our address is different every time. I was feeling better today but the tiredness suddenly hit me on the way home from work. I'm ok again now after resting a while. Thank you. Cherry and almond biscuits. Don't mind if I do. I'll have one with a cuppa.

Barbara, you did really well and no music either to help. They don't seem to be in a rush to remove your son's lump so I guess they don't think it is too serious. I'm surprised he hasn't seen anyone about his scans but, again, I think if it had been serious, they'd have had him in pretty quickly. Still a worry though, isn't it? Hope you enjoyed your tea and cake. What a lovely surprise from the children. Wonder if I can manage a muffin after one of Toady's biscuits.

Kath, it was freezing here this morning too. Wished I'd worn my scarf and gloves. Not surprised you are fuddled. It's difficult to get your head round these things. Sounds as if there are a few places confused about where they actually are. It's not only where I live then. Pykelets? Haven't heard of them in a lot of years. My dad used to buy us them.

Elizabeth, that was a really good turnout. My neighbour, who committed suicide, was buried on Tuesday but I didn't know what time so I didn't go. Sounds as if you are managing to get some sleep. Hope it keeps up and your week isn't as bad as you thought it might be. Thanks for putting the smile on. Think we could do with being cheered up.

Hope your week is going well Joan.

My niece is just about to qualify as a hairdresser so I asked her round to cut my hair tonight. She did a brilliant job. Better than the more experienced hairdressers in her salon, even her boss. I'm very pleased with what she did.

They have closed off one side of the road and the footpath of the road I walk down to get to work. Today, one of their vans was parked right across the footpath on the opposite side so everyone was walking in to the road, while traffic was passing, to get past. I squeezed down the side of the van, knocked on the window, where the driver was sat drinking a cuppa, and asked if it was possible for him to park somewhere else. He apologised then told me he couldn't as they were working where he normally parked but he would only be there for an hour. His reason for parking ........... he had to watch the temporary lights that were there to control the traffic.

Wishing for a cheerier week for us all next week.

First in :) so I will busy myself getting some things set out, maybe tidy a cupboard.. get the kettle going.

Dull & rather cold, but worse to come next week apparently so will have to lump it.

TK that was a large number attending the funeral, what a testament to your friend. Must have been a lot of sentiments expressed said & memories exchanged. Glad you could come in here for a virtual sit & think about your friend and manage a smile.

Kath hope you are doing ok. A buttered crumpet & coffee sounds ideal today although you'd think from that it was still winter.. yes we need summer to reappear barbara, no sign in the offing yet.. glad to hear things with your son are 'no change' but he must certainly be starting to drum his fingers at the waiting.

Well done getting your hair done applerose, now that is a handy skill to have in a family member :D excellent. Sorry you are still feeling the tiredness. I am going to start on a bit of painting in the kitchen (I feel my cooker is on the brink of packing up so a hasty tidyup & facelift is called for, at the prospect of having an electrician in) - so maybe we could do a few brushfuls at a time if we have plenty of teabreaks.

The sum total of my news is I was chasing a live mouse around again last thing, then sat in the half dark trying to see if it headed in the direction of outside.. of course out strolls a not particularly nice spider, so had to deal with that too.. in the end the mouse disappeared when I left my post for a moment, so I still missed the going of it, hope he got out. Plus I made an impulse purchase on eb*y that I now rather regret as I feel I may have bought a 'pig in a poke' so you are all welcome to laugh if I have.

Love to joan, marrianne, bubbles & all not present.. Right, to the kitchen.. toady xx
