Hello Barbara Christine Marrianne Mig and anyone else who's in
Sue came home yesterday and she thank's you all for the good wishes.
i hope you are all having a good day.
take care all

It took 9 tabs to get rid of the headache. I'm so lucky that I was able to go to bed. Mind you when OH and Son came home a couple of OH's friends were threatening to come round with their 2 kids, who are very hard work and never do as told. Luckily (the Gods were smiling on me on Sunday) OH fell asleep after all his walking about with our Son and didn't hear the phone but his comments were, well what difference would it make as you were in bed! He doesn't understand that Id have to get up and run around after other peoples disobedient children.
Joan give Sue my regards and glad she is home. I expect you missed her.
We get blocked drains a lot Applerose. OH is actually very good at sorting these sort of things out.
My tumble drier went bang a few months back Marianne, frightening but better than a fire or electric shock. It actually lasted 10 years which is a miracle for me. Fridge is on the way out now.
Kath do you get tender legs too (with the itching)? Mine feel like bruises and are very painful to touch. I've been very conscious to walk about a bit more after what you said about it could be vascular especially as my Mum had awful ulcers and swelling on her legs.
Toady the town I grew up in lost its railway in 66. It is a shame as everybody then went out and bought cars. Yep Son had a great time. He had been going on about it for a while but I didn't really understand that tickets sell out for the actual final train ride so quicklyso he only got to watch from the outside when it stopped at the station. I think they raced round and saw it twice.
Best be careful with Lucy Toni. You don't want any setbacks. It would have been my Mum's 85th birthday same day (29th).
I decided to stay awake today. I still have my tax credit forms to finalise and I've just haven't had the energy but the deadline is looming.
Take care everyone, hope you all have a lovely day.

Afternoon all
Oh Marianne no we don't judge.. just here for one another...you are having a rough time and on top of that all the jobs that need finishing..and your washer breaking...bless it never rains bout pours..think I would be screaming the house down  I just hope that things improve very soon and will have my fingers crossed for your second biologic ...let us know how you get on...((())
Joan I'm so glad to hear that Sue is home, have you got help or can she managed to get in and out of the chair and bed...I hope so..
Elizabeth thank goodness you get rid of that headache..but all those tablets...and glad you got out of the people visiting..I know they can cause chaos..
Christine I dont feel has bad today think its this blinking cough its wearing me out..I hope they get the drains cleared ...
Its has been so hot here to hot for me and very humid..it has suddenly gone dark so I hope it doesn't thunder  ..
Mig I will go and have a look at LVs thread to see if there is any news..thanks for the reminder I have only just come on
See you all later...xxxxxxLove

Marrianne it sounds as if you are having a rough time at the moment. I hope things get sorted for you and you feel better soon.
Mig, the sponge cake was rather tasty. Thank you.
Good to hear that Sue is home now, Joan.
Elizabeth, you shouldn't have to run round after other people's children. Glad they didn't come round. I think the tax credit forms need to be in by the end of this month so you've got about 4 weeks.
Barbara, it has been very hot and humid here too. They keep talking about showers but we don't get them.
Oops, 2 more tubs of ice cream fell in to my shopping basket again this week. :? I got a good bargain too. T*sc* had boxes of 2 curry meals with rice and naans and onion bhagis. I think they are normally about £8. They were selling them for £1.25 so I had one tonight and put the other in the freezer.Christine0 -
Any tea going..? I have been off for a rest and went to sleep, didn't really expect to, now it's later than I thought. Think I might need a cuppa to bring me round.
Nice to see everyone, pleased to hear sue is out of hospital joan, visiting can be difficult and she will be glad to be out I'm sure. Hope you're both managing.
Marrianne good to see you too but sorry it's not the best of times.. fridge & washing machine are not helping I know how you feel, have had times here when household things playing up have felt like the final straw.. dripping taps and dodgy boiler etc, and getting them fixed is just 'one more thing'.. do hope the 2nd biologic starts to work, some need to kick in but at least getting the first few under your belt gets it into your system and hopefully starting to help.. mind yourself with things from the fridge won't you, don't have anything that might not be ok even if it means wasting it. Not surprised you are grumpy but we can't help it even when there are worse things.. as I was just saying a day or two ago..
Your fridge is on the way out too TK, oh dear.. hope you find something suitable if you have to get a new one, I finally had my old one taken away with last weeks' council rubbish, it was far too old & more of a hindrance than a help by the end, icing up so much but just couldn't get round to replacing it. Glad you shifted the headache.. well I hope it is properly gone.. no you don't need unruly kids to deal with. Glad Son enjoyed the trains & wasn't too disappointed he couldn't go on. Getting up energy for paperwork is almost impossible sometimes. :? hope you get it done.
I see you've been tired as well barbara, the heat is definitely a bit draining. Glad you didn't fall too far asleep in the docs  no-one wants to be in there a minute longer than needs be. Hope your bloods are ok. Mine are on Friday, they seem to be steady these days so yes I'm not doing too badly thanks for asking.Just need some energy too, I come in here & see threads I'd like to add to & don't have the concentration. Got an email written yesterday though.
Hope you get on ok at your respiratory appt Kath and can get a few of the ologists out of the way.. getting a bit of time without one or other of them takes some doing doesn't it.. good luck with it. Glad the garden is easier with the chippings.. everything is dry isn't it. Can't put anything in the mini greenhouse it just gets too much heat and things crisp up & wilt.
Applerose hope all goes well for your niece's day and for the picnic.. are they really nearly breaking up from school, oh dear the year is going too fast.. :? Shame there was no plant stall in the end at the fete. Hope you can re-home yours elsewhere. Well done to your GS.How is work at the moment? Nuisance about this drain situation if it is something that will keep happening. Glad you got some shopping bargains.
Will have a piece of mig's Victoria sponge I think & more or less call it a day. xx0 -
Morning all
Hee had a really good sleep , so I am up for anything todayand the sun is shinning..
Christine..good for you with the ice cream...I might come and join you today...
must say I think that Tes*os indian meals are quite good unlike some of the others ..that was a bargain..curry is suppose to cool you down in hot weather... that's what my OH keeps telling me :? he is curry mad..
Toady..glad you are not doing to bad, but the brain drain is not good..wouldn't it be good if we could plug it in and charge it..hope the bloods come back ok, I dread the doc ringing me...well done on the email...same here ..people are giving upon me
Its quite warm here already so the window's are open. I had better water my plants before it gets to hot..I think there are flowers starting to come on the potatoes..I am very excited ..doesn't take much these days..strawberries still green..but don think it will be long before I can pic them..will put the kettle on and have a clean around .see you later xxxxxxxx

Mornin all, beautiful morning, just watching JK show while having a coffee.
How's your son Barbara ? Not sure what's for tea yet,got a late appointment at hairdressers, the girl that does my hair is going on holiday for a few weeks so she's fitted me in at 5oclock might call at the chippy on the way home, can I leave anything in the cafe ? Leave your orders. Mig0 -
Classic bag of chips please. Hot, salty, vinegary, cup of barbara's tea, round of bread & butter, perfect thanks.
Enjoy your hair appt.
Yes minor excitements in the gardening line count as a high point these days barbarait's that and the postman. Hope the potatoes live up to your hopes. I've never grown any, but I remember picking them at my Grandad's, and my Dad grew them once upon a time, & there is nothing like digging them up.. and the lovely smell.. I'm finding that veg doesn't seem to be my forte, but if you have a go at basil I'll try 'tatties' one day.
Glad you had a good sleep.ta for tea, hope marrianne & everyone else is well as poss, & joan & sue are coping with things. xx

Respite day again. Daughter has a violin concert tonight but I won't be able to go because my Son will be back by then.
Well this is the 2nd day in a row without feeling really tired so I#m gettong a few things done. I need one more thin for the tax credits but that means going through piles of paperwork so got to gee myself up for that.
Our strawbs are nice and red here Barbara.
Penstemons are growing very well, hollyhocks are starting to reach for the sky (but no flowers yet) but OH killed my 2 poppy flowers by mowing them! I was looking forward to seeing them flower.
9 tablets for my headaches is usual so I know what lies ahead when I get a headache. I was cross with OH for suggesting that being in bed meant it was okay to allow kids round but they go into all the rooms and grab everything-if they stayed downstairs I really wouldn't mind.
Applerose what a bargain!
good advise about being careful with the freezer food Toady.
Right going to see if I can get some more things done,
Love to all, hope you are managing.

Yes, only another 2 weeks till the schools break up. I always get excited and then realise I'm not on holiday.
Work isn't bad at the moment. I seem to be finding a bit of energy from somewhere. My boss and his family are going on holiday in 2 weeks for 3 weeks. I'm sure I'll be told I have to have at least one of those weeks off. It might work out ok as my daughter is hoping to come over around then for a few days. If not, I'll be sitting twiddling my thumbs. My son is thinking of taking some of the aloe plants to work and I think I'll take the rest to one of the hospice charity shops. I noticed they've been selling a few plants.
I love curry too Barbara. I eat quite a lot and always have a craving for ice cream afterwards. Hands Barbara a bowlful of ice cream. I have all the windows and the back door open when I'm at home. I've tried that at work but only usually have the utility window wide open. My boss and one of his sons have hayfever and they all seem to feel the cold. I noticed I've got tiny buds on my potatoes. Your strawberries are a bit behind mine. I've been picking for nearly 2 weeks. They are more tasty when you've grown them yourself.
Mig I watch JK sometimes. Don't really know why. Think I can't believe there are people like that even though my son used to tell me similar stories about people in the job he used to have.
Elizabeth, hope you got some rest today. Glad you aren't so tired. What a shame you can't go to your daughter's concert. I hope she enjoys it.
Marrianne, that's the way to go. Finding the good in having to lug heavy washing around. Hope you can get a washing machine sorted out soon.
I started reading a book about a fortnight ago and am getting more and more in to it. I'm starting to feel as if I can't put it down. I used to read a lot when the kids were small but haven't really read books for years. Managed to cut back one side of the front hedge today. The rest will keep for another time.Christine0 -
Third day in a row not feeling fatigued. Wonder if I've turned a corner?
Just been for a jab and nurse concerned about my blood pressure. Do you think it could be linked to all the argueing with OH (about the car-ongoing)?
I really hope Toni's daughter is well enough for the prom. I think she said Thursday.
Beautiful sunshine here. Christine may be a week off will coincided with your Daughter coming to visit. that would be lovely
Take care-hope Sue is doing well.

Had to go to the GPs this morning they rang me Tuesday and I didnt ring back..its always bad news..anyhow they rang this morning...my thyroid is borderline..I said just put it on the list she said at least you are not diabetic...woope woo
Christine is it only 2 weeks to the school holidays...blimey I am behind this year..usually have them in my head...glad you have found more energyit must be needed at work...hopefully your daughter will come over and you can have a lovely catchup..I have one red strawberry out of loads...so things are looking up..I am beginning to think this cough is related to hayfever..I have had a chest xray and that is fine..thanks for the ice cream..I have a thing about making wafers..
Elizabeth..thats is really good 3 days and not feeling tired bet you cant believe it...hope it continues for you..yes stress doesn't help blood pressure
Joan I hope the pain meds are helping Sue...tell her I am thinking about and you her
Its is so very warm here...but its cloudy .we have been to the garden center after the docs and got a cuppa but no cake..being good..
Will see you all later xxxxLove
Barbara0 -
I've got my fingers crossed the fatigue has gone altogether now Elizabeth. Hopefully your blood pressure will drop again now things are a bit more settled for you.
Joan, hope Sue's foot goes down quickly. it must be really painful for her.
Barbara, how lucky are you? Not being diabetic. :? That's good that the x-ray was clear. My eyes keep blurring when the pollen count goes up but are ok again when the pollen goes down.
There was a big hotel, night club and health spa round the corner from me. The owner was one of the builders who wanted to build houses there. Any way, the hotel was set alight a couple of nights ago. It is being treated as suspicious and everyone thinks it was done to save money bulldozing the buildings.
Off to do my exercises and read my book now. Can't put it down.Christine0 -
Hello every one ,no breakfast but raiding the biscuit tin ,been listening to With great pleasure on radio 4 ...hope this is not spam Terry Wogan choices of songs and poetry its left me in floods love Finbar Frurey but still washing in the bath ....never mind feel like an old irish washer women alas the bingo wings are still very much in situ love to all Marrianne x0

Morning all
No sun this morning but its cooler..sorry shouldn't grumble I do love the sun but not the humidity
Christine..the hotel reminds me of a few places round here that the council have wanted to get rid of because they have let them get in disrepair...one was left to the people of the borough by a wealthy family in 1800s they always seem to go up in flames  glad you have a good book ..nice to read in the evening..
Marrianne...still washing in the bath how rotten for you, Im afraid we would have to walk round in dirty clothes if it were down to me  I must go and have a look at Finbar Frurey.
Had my first strawberry yesterday ..it was half ready but could wait to taste it...very sweet...there are 3 variety's so who knows what they will taste like mind you I wont know which they are forgot to label them...see you all later xxxx

Hello all,
just popped in to show I've not forgotten where the cafe is. And I'm gasping for a cuppa. I'll not have any cake or anything as I'm trying to lose weight (vain hope) so if you hear someone's tummy rumbling, that will be me.
Elizabeth, in answer to your question of a few days (weeks) ago, yes my legs do get sore and I've got some bruising where I've really 'gone for it' as the itch does drive me mad sometimes (only sometimes?).
One of the reasons I'm such an infrequent visitor is that I belong to 6 forums and have 5 facebook groups to visit as well as my own facebook page. I've now signed up to Gene's Reunited and wish I hadn't, because when you get involved in that, the time goes nowhere. I wanted to put some of our latest garden photos onto photo bucket so I could put them on here, but I don't think I will have time. When I'm not on my forums/groups, I'm usually asleep.
Hope the forthcoming rain at the weekend won't cause you too many aches and pains. I hate any humidity or dampness. I prefer cold, crisp weather with clouds to stop the sun hurting my poor eyes.
Wishing everyone a good(ish) weekend. xx"Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

Afternoon all
Marrianne, I have read many things on what to eat and not for arthritis, have just been reading a book Margaret Pattern the cook from the 50s she had arthritis and was interested in the types of food that effects it has... ,very interesting isn't it..we can only do our best..dont worry about the spelling I found them
Kath dont you go worrying about posting so long has we know you are okish..dont think I could post on another forum I would be muddled :? glad to see it keeps you busy that is a good distraction..
It is dark and pouring down here  and I am watching tennis with them all in the sunshine unbelievable its the same country...we have on GC on the way GD has gone to pick her up from school..the middle one ..our pub down the rd is closing and becoming an Indian restaurant ...such a shame it was built in 1880 for the railway and had the old stables at the back for the horse and carriages..I hadn't been in for many years it went quite rough..but my OH is going to take a pic of the landlord the very last one at the front..at least they are not knocking it down...small mercy's eh...

Marrianne, you're still washing in the bath. Just think of the muscles you're building up. Oh, you said the 'k' word. Are we allowed to say that now? Although I check facebook and a few other places, I have to agree with you that AC is the best one.
Barbara don't the strawberries taste lovely when you've grown them? I don't label a lot of things either so never know the type. I've got normal strawberries, very small ones and long thin ones. I'm glad they're not knocking down your old pub. Hope they don't change it much.
Kath please help yourself to cake. It's all virtual in here so doesn't have any calories. I'm a bit like you in that I check facebook and other things each evening although not as much as you. I got a month for £1 recently on Genes so know what it's like. You can spend hours and hours in there.
Got home from work, had lunch and then felt like falling asleep. I find I can't actually fall asleep during the day so ended up getting up to do something. That led to going upstairs which led me in to the loft so I got the mess cleaned up which the heating engineers left and sorted through a few things to take to the charity shop. So glad I got that done. Might get a bit more done over the weekend seeing as it's supposed to rain over the weekend.
The main road from where I live to our High Street was dug up all down one side last year to replace water pipes. it toook them 12 weeks. They did the same on the other side earlier this year and now they are digging up sections here and there all the way down. As the hedge is very overgrown on one side, it means we have to walk on the road in some places. Very dangerous as some people don't seem to think the 30 mph applies to them. I complained to the council last month and have just emailed them again.
Wasn't it great to hear that Lucy had a wonderful time at her prom and didn't she look gorgeous? Hope everyone has a good weekend.Christine0
