Hi all have put a post up in newbie section.
Just wondering if anyone here has done an open uni course and how you found it?

    I am currently doing an OU course and about to do my final module for my degree.
    I have found the OU very helpful but it you are still expected to keep up and work to the same standard as other students. That might sound obvious but I have to really think about planning for the weeks 16 hours of study without over doing it.
    The tutors have been good if I have needed the occasional extension but they are best avoided and I have found I start the course before the official start date to allow for any hiccups.
    If this is your first degree you may be eligible for DSA (disability student allowance) it is non means tested and they provided me with equipment to help me study such as a good desk chair etc. This allowance applies at any university not just Open university.
    I have really enjoyed doing the courses and would recommend them.
