Hello Barbara, Toni, Elizabeth (glad you're back) Mig, Toady, Joan, Christine and anyone else I've forgotten.
Well it's done nothing but rain here today. Very warm and humid though. We had a little thunder yesterday but not much. This type of weather affects me very badly. Hope all are managing to keep cool and relatively pain free. Odd thing to say in the middle of summer, but roll on winter. :?
Scratch, scratch, scratch, now I know how flea ridden cats and dogs feel."Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

Toni, thank you. I'll pass your message on to Erin. I think most of us could have our showers in the garden at the moment.
Rained quite a bit here today. Hope you managed to find somewhere under cover for your meet-up today and you and Lucy had a good day.
Mig, today's meal sounds good, as always.
Barbara, I put all my wages in the bank just in case I was tempted. Most of it will go on bills. My boss's wife said the 18 year old knows how to use the washing machine so she is going to leave him a note telling him to wash the clothes he needs and I'll iron them. I'd put a bet on that the clothes are still in his suitcase when I get there. I keep buying things so don't need to do an online shop. I really need to get organised again.
Joan, hope your mouth is a little better today.
Sorry you're being affected so much with this weather Kath. I don't blame you wishing for winter. Wish you could get your itching sorted out. I was itching quite a bit the other day with thunder flies crawling on my arms and neck but it won't have been like yours. At least mine was sorted with a shower.
Finally got the dog to go for a proper walk. I've been taking her to the park round the corner. We need to go past the play area to the wooded area where I let her off the lead. The first couple of times, right after the play area, she stopped and refused to move so I had to almost drag her so she could do what she needed to do. Today, I threw a ball, she ran for it then walked off and left it and set off home running. Managed to catch her and walked her the long way home round the estate. Funny how she was fine with that. At least we missed the rain. Didn't go to dad's today as I hadn't slept for 2 nights but only managed 2 lots of washing and washed the dishes. Oh well, the rest will do me good but please don't tell my physio. He told me not to sit for long. Oops.Christine0 -
Good Morning All
and a lovely morning it looks too
Christine please do pass my message on to Erin - if she was here in real life she's be subjected to one of my hugs
I think walking the dog will please your physio so don't worry too much about the occasional rest
Kath I keep thinking of you when it's this hot it must be dreadfulI hope you slept a tiny bit better last night.
Hi Joan Thank you we are enjoying the weekend so far. I was wondering whether Peppa is ok with thunder??
Right Barbara The coffee machine is easier than you think....
Make sure there's water in it. Put some coffee into the portafiller (looks like a tiny saucepan. It twists on underneath...can you see? (choose the size according to what coffee you want - espresso etc)
Then switch machine on (having put cups underneath the tap thingys) it makes a bit of a noise and fills the cup with your coffee.
then you got to steam your milk with the steam wand on the right?? and pour it on.
Sprinkle some choccy powder on top - add any syrups; caramel/hazelnut etc then hey presto! all done
this one's for you!
Hope the sea bass was lovely mig. I like Sea bassDefinitely different
Right I'll just do the washing up before I leave
love

Morning all
Been up since 6 watching the cyclist go past in the iron man..had all sorts of languages ..think they were saying good morning ..hope so anyway :? ..there were quite a few women has well..they swim in the flash nearby..many laps..cycle for miles and there are really steep hills on the rout..then they run the marathon  Lycra everywhere...
Toni the instructions were very clear ...must give it another go..thanks for the coffee I haven't had one since we got this machine..nice to see you are having a little normal time...that's if you count us lot has normal
Christine hopefully the teenager will wash his clothes..not something teenager do...very wise putting your money in the bank ...the doggy made me laugh , we had a Jack Russel and when she didn't want to go anywhere she would just sit down...they have this extra sense we don't have, so it makes you wounder why he wouldn't go..at you are getting the exercise with him...
Kath I hope it is cooler were you are ..very humid here..not good for scratching ..I wish they would find you something to help
Joan I hope you and Sue have a good weekend.....with not much thunder
We have done well for thunder my youngest son that lives 4 miles away had it quite bad...
Right I am off to try the coffee machine again... :?Love

Hello mig, christine, Joan, Barbara, Elizabeth, Toni and whoever else is around.
Thank you all for thinking of me. I've decided that from now on I'm titled Her Itchiness. My next dermatology app is on August 13th, but I think my rheumy might be my best bet and I don't see her until September :?
Mig, I'm going to turn up at yours one day. You do such delicious dinners. We had veggie fingers, goats cheese and caramelized onion slice, with tinned tomatoes. But I love lamb.
Barbara, how exciting to see all those lycra wearing cyclists. I used to cycle to work years ago - but never in lycra.
Toni, you've baffled me with science explaining the coffee machine. I'll stick to chilled water for the moment.
Joan, hope your sore mouth is beginning to recover. I'd be stuffing ice cream in my face all day if it was mine.
Well I managed to get a line full of washing dry before we had a brief shower this morning. Sun's back out now. Hope you are all relaxing this afternoon."Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

Toni, what if I put a tiny cup under and press for a big cup. Oops! i will clean it up. Promise.
Barbara, sounds as if it was worth getting up for.
Glad you're a little cooler Mig. Enjoy your chops. Glad you got your washing dry. I've got a few things out just now.
What a night/morning. I didn't sleep too well to start with then the dog woke me up at 4 needing to go. I let her out in the back garden where she quickly sat down for a minute then disappeared down the bottom of the garden. I stood for about 5 minutes then had to go and look for her. Don't think she wanted to come back in. Got back to sleep after a while but then woken up at 6 with a motor bike going past and again at 7.30 with the woman over the road banging loudly on the door then screaming 'Get out, get out.' After 15 minutes of this, I got up to have a look. Eventually, a young lad of about 10 or 11 climbed over the fence and walked off down the road wiping his eyes with his t-shirt. Hope he's ok. So I got up and took the dog for a walk. Got in to the park, said hello to Oscar, the greyhound, then she lay down and refused to move so we came home. Managed to sort through some books and stuff and have a big pile ready to go to the charity shop. Must ring them tomorrow to come and collect everything.
Hope you are all enjoying the weekend.Christine0 -
Looks like you just got in before me Barbara. Wow, they look good and a good size too. Well done. Bet they were tasty.Christine0

Just thought I'd let you know the young lad who's mum threw him out is ok. Saw him playing outside this afternoon.
Been on 3 dog walks today. First one Lucy lay down when we got to the park and refused to move until I set off back home. The other 2 walks, I went a different way and so we had a decent walk.
There has been a car parked right across the pavement, down the road from me, for quite a few weeks. The other day, a 20 something lad came out of the house and got in to the car. On Thursday night, there was another car visiting, also parked right across the path. The curtains have been closed and all the windows left wide open 24/7 even when the car wasn't there. This morning, there were no cars and the windows were closed, the upstairs curtains open. The downstairs curtains were gone as was all the furniture. There hasn't been a for sale sign up so I'm guessing the young lad was renting it on his own. I'm wondering if he's taken all the furniture with him. The gardens both front and back has been left and is very overgrown.
Off to do my exercises then bed. Hope next week is good for everyone.Christine0 -

The sun is shinning and a nice breeze..
Christine I do worry about young people I know there is more pressure on parents and the young these days and with all the shouting at the parents on telly no wounder..the poor lad..I am glad to see they had him back in..blimey you must have been shattered getting up with the doggy..I used to dread  mine not doing anything last thing at night I just knew she would have me up..must say you don't need physio with all that exercise

Hello Barbara, Christine, Joan, can't see anyone else at the moment. You must all be sunning yourselves.
Barbara, mmmmm, chips just how I like them, crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. Is there any ketchup to dip them in - oh yes, perfect.
Christine, your night sounded awful. sorry to hear you had so many disturbances, life is tiring enough as it is.
Joan sorry to hear your mouth is still sore.
I'm off outside to enjoy my chips and ketchup with a huge glass of dandelion and burdock."Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

Barbara, the main bus station is in Middlesbrough so all the long distance buses and coaches go there. Hope your GD has a good stay. Glad you're enjoying your potatoes. I have a cherry tomato plant with quite a few tomatoes on. One of them has grown to the size of a normal tomato although the others are small. Hope you and your GD enjoyed your cakes.
Oh Kath. Dandelion and burdock. I could just do with some. Feeling really thirsty.
Mig, I love spagbol and garlic bread.
Hope you enjoyed your coffee Joan.
Another hectic day. Took the dog for a walk before I went to work. She seemed to settle down as I left for work but I decided to go home at lunch time to check on her. I heard her barking and howling as I walked up to the door. When I went inside, I saw she had scratched at the door and pulled off the ventilation grid on the bottom of the door. What a mess. She was frantic so I sat for an hour but had to go back to work. Came home earlier than I should have done and she'd been at the door again. My neighbour said he hadn't heard a thing. I'd not been home long when I got a phone call from my boss's mum saying the alarm was ringing. She came to pick me up and we went to have a look. The alarm had stopped but there was definitely something wrong as it wouldn't reset again. So I ended up getting home later than usual. I'm supposed to be at work most of the day tomorrow and all day on Thursday but not sure what to do. I'm going to wear myself out going home every day at lunch time.
When my boss's mum dropped me off at home, she sat in the car talking to me then suddenly she started to pull off. I had to ask her to stop to let me out. We did have a good laugh about it but it was a bit strange.Christine0 -
Afternoon all
Just been to get the results from the rheumy appointments...only slightly raised inflammation..so nothing g nasty has yet she said...3 disc in my back are protruding I knew about this but one is really pressing.on a nerve so I have to see neuro surgeon....not a clue when even she didn't know how long..the sacro joint shows no inflammation but only injections of lidocain will determine if there is anything wrong..so that is it...it was roasting in there at least I could come out the poor staff...
Joan how is your mouth doing....and is Sue doing ok..with that foot
Christine sorry I keep missing you, but I always look forward to reading your post..your poor thing having to go home for the doggy...some do not like being left... hope its not made to much of a mess with the door
Blimey you be careful when the alarms go off..there could have been someone in there....hope the doggy behaves...your bosses mum sounds like a real character..
I am sat here with fan on..far to warm outside... this is the colour of me :oops:Love

Afternoon everyone. As you have all (well some of you) mentioned that you liked Dandelion and Burdock, I've put three 2 litre bottles of it in the 'fridge.
I don't usually drink a lot of 'pop', as it never quenches my thirst properly. I prefer squash, plain water, or a cup of tea. My problem is that whatever I have, one drink means at least two trips to the loo. :?
Barbara, glad your rheumy appointment results weren't too bad but hope you don't have to wait too long to see the neuro surgeon.
Christine, how upsetting for you to get home and find the dog barking and howling! I hope she settles down soon.
Mig, stop it, you're making me hungry.Spag bol is another favourite of mine.
Hope all are relatively pain free and coping with the heat. I bought some Aloe Vera gel from H & B, to try and keep my legs cool. Working at the moment, tonight will be the big test."Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

Phew, a bit warm today, isn't it?
Barbara, glad the inflammation hasn't got too much worse. Hope you don't have to wait too long for your neuro appointment. The dog had taken off the metal ventilation grille on the bottom of the door (it was bent out of shape) so I now have a hole right across the bottom of the door. It just needs a new one on.The next door neighbour was there with us when we went in to the house so he would have sorted anyone out if they'd been there.
Thanks for putting the D&B in the fridge Kath. I'll have a nice cold glass of it now. Don't usually drink fizzy drinks but now and again I really crave some. Hope the aloe works for you tonight.
I decided to take the day off today. Couldn't bear thinking of the dog crying all day but I need to go in tomorrow to make sure the 18 year old has all his clothes ready for his next holiday. My boss's mum has left him something he can heat up for his dinner tonight and a steak for tomorrow. She suggested I cook it for him if he doesn't know how to. Depends when he wants it. As I was off, I decided to get some things done. I always sit looking at the jobs and don't do them but today I just picked one and got on with it. So I've got all the biggish things gathered together now so, next chance I get, and if I remember, I'll phone the charity shop to come and get them. I'll feel so much better once it's all gone.Christine0 -
Morning all
Thankyou Kath and Christine
Kath ..I really do hope the Aloe Vera helped last night..I really feel for you in this weather.and thanks for the DB my favorite drink from years backthere is something about it..
Christine..glad the neighbour went into your bosses house..wouldnt like you to come across someone in there..I am sure the teen will cook his steak...but then again...it would do him good to learn..aww you having to have a day off for the doggy..they know how to work things ...my jack Russel used to wreck the house if we left her in...she knew we would leave her again but we got her out of it eventually  glad you got some jobs done...
Phew its 26 in my living room already the sun is at the front in the morning...I have my fan going..but my middle GD doesn't like it make her cold...  our eldest GD is till in Stockton and might come home tomorrow...she has got the hang of the megs bus
Today...I have topick an order up at As**..so might has well get some bits of shopping in..and maybe a coffee nearby...see you all later xxxxLove

Hi all,Been looking at my family tree which i hadn't done for a while, worked on it for many years and got over 700 people on it ,the earliest i found someone was 1758 ,and possibly earlier but not verified,my great grandad was a railway worker and i have just found a record of his employment which has set me off again.
Anyway back to important things its braised lamb shanks today ,i didn't make them got them from a**i at a bargain price, everything is from the freezer today as it really needs cleaning out so theres roasties frozen peas and yorkshire pudds,it will be ready about 5.30 as daughters in for tea then going out, bacon buttes for lunch.
Keep well all. Mig0 -

Hope all are feeling ok - ish and not too hot. Glad you are enjoying the D & B, think I'll have a glass of it myself. Not stopping long, too tired and too fed up. Sorry. :?"Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein
