Only you in today Barbara. Hope everyone is ok and just enjoying the weather. Sh*tzus are lovely dogs. Noticed you put a *. Thought I'd better too in case they think it's a naughty word.
I did think about leaving the buddleia as mine took off this year too. It's the first time in about 8 years the flowers have looked good. The grow so quickly, I'm sure it will sprout up again next year. I'm the same. Keep saying it's too hot to do things.
Just put out my bin and all the recycle things. 4 bags of garden waste and that doesn't include the buddleia. Decided that needs to be cut up a bit more. Have to put out all the stuff for the charity van coming tomorrow. I'm worrying now that I'll come home from work and find they haven't been and I'll have to bring it all back in again. A young boy, about 8, asked me today where you get dogs from. Was it M&S?Christine0 -
Morning all
Cloudy here but quite humid...
our middle GD came last night... she is off to Manchester today with a few friends, some sighing at a well know music shop..
I am off to meet my niece she is back from holiday...so we will be catching up
Christine it is quiet I think the warm weather may be the culprit, hope they took your stuff..there is nothing worse than having to bring it in..wounder if the little boys ask them in M&Swe once went to the dogs home and got a lovely youngish dag ..he was chipped and done..
we pampered him and he had long walk with both me and hubby..then he disappeared..we have fields at the back and wounder if someone picked him up, he was a golden lab cross..and to this day we don't know what happened :? hope you have an easy day at work...
Anyone heard off marrianne..I hope she has got a new washing machine..
Will see you later..xxxxLove

Hello Barbara, Mig, Christine, Joan, Toni, Toady, Elizabeth, hope all are ok even though not in the cafe.
First my appointment. My lungs have stablilised, I can stop taking my prophylactic anti biotic, half my Seretide dose, but increase my mucodyne by two more capsules a day. I've been prescribed saline nebs and Flucloxicillin for my legs. She thinks I might have a skin infection which is making the itching worse. She also found the name of two skin conditions that the Dermatologists seem to be looking into - although they haven't told me! :? Lichen Simplex and Nodular Prurigo Chronicus!!
We had some bad news this morning. Our local post office is closing permanently tomorrow and the nearest one is one mile away.. As I can't walk very far, it will mean catching a bus, and we usually go before 9.30 am so won't be able to use our bus passes.
My good news is, I belong to Maggie's online community (a cancer charity) and put quite a few poems on there. They have had a new brochure produced and used one of them in it. I got my copy today.
Joan, glad to hear your ulcers are finally beaten. Sorry about the blood pressure though. Are you taking Leflunomide (Arave) at all, I hear that can cause it.
They keep promising cooler weather - anyone seen it, because I haven't."Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

Evening all
Joan mouth ulcers are horrible..glad the moth is easing and I hope the cream works for your lips..let us know how you get on...9st. 4..its many years since I was that weight...
Oh Kath you are struggling with that rash..I hope what they have given you works..this is awful you are losing your post office its happening more and more..they don't give a toss for people with mobility probs..there is a town we visit and they have put the post office in WH Smi** and the queues are awful
Just had the baby here...her mum is panicking because she wont talk..its strange she does a sort of sigh languageI keep telling her she will talk when ready...
There is apple crumble and treacle sponge in the fridge..hope all that are missing are doing okish xxxxxLove

Barbara, your GD certainly gets about. is she off to see another band? All my stuff had gone when I got home. Phew. How sad, your dog going missing like that. I hope, if someone did pick him up that they looked after him well. My sister's cat went missing. A couple of days later, a friend told her they saw a car stop and someone lifted a cat in and drove off but they didn't think anything of it till they found out hers had gone. My daughter worried that my GS wouldn't talk but now he doesn't stop.
Joan, glad your mouth is getting better. Hope the cream works for your lips. 9 st 4? Wish I was that.
Kath, good news about your lungs. Hope they find out if that's what's causing the itching. We've still got our post office, fortunately. The one in the next town closed some years ago but re-opened a few months back. The big one in the town after that closed and is now a counter in W.H. Sm*th. Just noticed Barbara said the same thing. People queuing for the PO and others trying to look at books all mixed in. Congratulations on getting your poem published. It has been a little cooler here for a couple of days.
Just been talking to my daughter. They are coming over on Thursday for a long weekend then up to Edinburgh to drop the dog off with my SIL's parents before they fly to Crete for a week.Christine0 -
Hello everyone.. just a quick post, my browser just crashed & lost me the one I was two-thirds through writing..
Bit cooler here (I think), & overcast, hope those who would be glad of it get slightly lower temps soon too. I'm not that sure if I'm hot & cold sometimes, I think my thermostat is wired-up a bit funny though.
Kath you are in the same position as me with the PO - a bus to town for me too.Try not to use them if at all possible these days & use couriers etc. I sent a birthday parcel 1st class yesterday which hasn't got there, & that's after I had been faffing with choosing it & getting it packed in good time. bah to them. Glad you are ticking the appts off, even if they are looking into mystery conditions behind your back :? hopefully to useful effect. Well done on the poem.
Nice to see joan here, hopefully the sore lips will clear up soon too and follow the mouth ulcers.Must be so much better to have them gone, so hard to take your mind off anything like that as you have to eat & drink & can't 'get around' it. 8.30 is early for your appt, I always try & get ones as late as possible.
Hope applerose's collection people have been and it didn't come to carting things in again. That's a lot of recycling as well. Do you have a brown bin or similar? Sorry I may have asked already. Lucy will be happy when she gets back home - looking after her hasn't been a walk in the park has it, well apart from the walks you have had in the park. I couldn't manage a dog but I wish I had one to borrow. Maybe M&S will start a lending dept as well as their main range. They could do a petite section for little dogs and a plus size for big ones. (And a rename to 'Barks & S***cers'...?)
Hope you had a good time meeting up with your niece barbara. Did you have something nice, tea/coffee/lunch? I will have some apple crumble thank you.I did get on so far with my e**y thanks
I will tell you about it in another post. One town near us has the PO in Smiths too, no wonder they have no room for books any more. :?
Hello to frogoh, a fellow gelatine-avoider.. tricky isn't it especially when you have to try & get information out of companies that don't label well. You'd think they would be able to manage that. I just email & pester them.
I hope you got into the garden. I have been collecting all my cerinthe seeds.. very satisfying.
Love to all, tea in the pot if applerose comes in.. xxx0 -
^ I was too busy editing to see you there applerose, I hope you found the tea & it hadn't gone off the boil. Hope your sister's kitty is ok.0

Hello everyone, just a quick visit. My prescription has just arrived. Two weeks supply of Flucloxacillin. And 100 saline nebs which I can use up to four a day. Think one will do to start with. I already have Salbutamol nebs but only use them as a last resort as I have my blue inhaler.
Hope all are feeling not too bad and hope those awaiting tests/results get good results.

I'm another one just popping in quickly. Feeling a bit worn out. Got in from work, had tea, sorted out the bedrooms, took Lucy for a walk, just had supper, now want my bed. Still not sure if my daughter's coming tomorrow. She said probably but there were problems at work. haven't been able to get hold of her tonight. If I'm not in tomorrow, could be because they have arrived.
Will read up when I get a minute. Hope all is well.Christine0 -
morning all
Kath glad your meds have arrived, its nice to know they are there if needed..I hope today is a goodish one for you..
Christine ..you juts pop in when your feel like it..its hard when you are working and having to do housework when you get home, I hope your daughter can get there..I bet you look forward to seeing them...

Hello Christine and Barbara, where is everyone? Did I say something?
Another very warm day. Last night wasn't too bad - but still very tired. Do antibiotics have that effect? They are each 500 mg and I have to take 4 a day - so maybe.
The other day Mig mentioned having Quorn mince, saying she didn't like it. Well, we had some today, with Ll*yd Gro***an tomato and basil cook in sauce. Delicious. The only problem was, OH cooked all of it and there was enough for 4.Still managed to finish it though, with a little bit of mash, peas and carrots. Having Hazlet sandwich for tea, just to prove I'm not all veggie.
Oh Barbara, I should think struggling up stairs with crutches would be enough of a work out for anybody. :?
Hi Joan, didn't see you pop in. 1lb 14oz - how big was your twin? I have an uncle and aunt who are twins. Don't know what they weighed though.
We're supposed to be getting some rain later - can't wait."Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

Hello everyone, just a quick post.. though it will probably turn out as long as the last one..
Lunchtime really but a cup of tea first then I will go & think about it. Sorry I can't help with the quorn mince, the only quorn I have has already been made into something, like their cottage pie. I imagine it would need a fair bit of seasoning, but I'm not keen on spices and not much of a cook either so I'm better off with ready made.
Hope you are feeling ok applerose & a bit more rested. Hopefully you heard in good time if your daughter could make it today. Poor Lucy won't know if she's coming or going.
Glad your visit with your niece (I spelt it wrong  ) was lovely barbara, especially as you don't see much of each other. Very impressed that are you are thinking of a night school course. I don't think my brain would take much inanything that does go in just goes out again.
I am doing ok thank you for asking
not enough energy to go round but not too much joint trouble touch wood (says me sitting here not wearing my splints, oops). Will you phone about your thyroid results instead? My ebay tale I was going to tell you, someone copied one of my listings, photos, price, the lot, for an identical item.
the outrage! My things did ok & I put the money towards a 'mini oven', which I decided would be a good idea to tide me over til I find a replacement I like. I think am pushing my luck using my old one  so thought I'd better not wait til I got a new one.
Amazing to think of you being so tiny joan. Are you the eldest twin? Glad you will be able to fit in seeing your physio too. I have been 'signed off' by the OT but I really ought to see the physio, but it's difficult to keep the extra appointments.
Hope you are juggling the medication kath & getting the right balance. My parcel I posted first class Monday got there today. So no PO's and they can't even deliver what you do manage to post..
Thinking of the absentees, toady xx.0 -
We have just had a roll of thunder Kath, so I think our rain will be sooner rather than later..0

Evening all
Toady the blinking cheek of these ..it a long time ago now but my son sold a playstation...and the buyer said it was broke and returned it, but it wasn't the right one..obviously they wanted anew one for nothing..there was nothing could be done about it.. its good to know your joints are behaving..but sorry you dont have the energy..not a clue if I will go through with an evening class..my brain is the same at the min...not sure if its the meds but I get all muddle really muddlemy brother use to have a little worktop cooker he loved it..
Joan you were tiny...bless and all those years ago..there wouldn't have been the machines and such then...what weight was Sue..don't tell me she was smaller...
Kath dont worry you haven' t said anything out of place...glad you had dinner cooked for you it did sound good..and I haven't had hazlet for years..yes the stairs are out I.m afraid..I really do hope the ABs work for you..hope the high doses don't make you feel sick they do with me

Hello everyone, no rain or thunder for us either - yet.
My sister brought my dad over this morning. It's her day off and she normally takes him shopping. But they popped over to ours first as dad had a pile of CDs containing census information going back to 1871, to help me with my genealogy research. He's traced his family back to the 18th century, so now I'm trying to trace his mum's family. I haven't seen my sister in ages as she works in a nursing home, so very unsociable hours.
Mig, hope your humira is working for you. I can't wait to see Dr P in September. I'm only on 10mg Leflunomide and it's not even touching the sides. If I hadn't have had (insert swear word here) cancer, I would still be on Methotrexate and probably feeling ok.
Barbara, I've never heard of such cheek in my life. But sadly, people are like that.
Toady, we use one of those table top ovens. Neither of us can get down to reach into the main cooker, so it hardly gets used. But we love the table top one. Everything else is put in the microwave. OH does all the cooking anyway."Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

Kath i don't see Dr P till nov but i see the OT next week to check splint is ok and have one done for night-time.
We have just had a quick shower here its very muggy.0 -
